To me thats the obvious choice. You can say they shouldnt penalize a team for being in a championship but Bama lost to Oklahoma h2h already

This also solves the ND/Miami h2h issue

At the end of the day common sense must rule.

Bama deserves to be in based on their resume of 10-2. They shouldn't be punished because they made the SEC title game. If so, teams should start forfeiting the conf title game

On the other hand, BYU should be judged on their loss bc they looked like they can't match up now TWICE against Tech, and don't have a resume of beating anyone of note. Leave them out, put Miami in

Crazy how there's always controversy around first team out / last team in whether it's 2, 4 or 12 teams involved.

And all for nothing because I don't think there's 12 teams capable of winning it all.

They absolutely have to do something about the current conference structure. And no not the "we should skip the CCG to avoid being punished" typed of something.

If 5 teams deserve to get it, 5 should. That 5th SEC team is still likely better than James Madison or those teams.

I think they need to extend to 16 teams with those extra 4 spots being teams like James Madison, etc. Let them have a play in game like the ncaa tournament.

This is where I gotta give Georgia credit in 2023. They got left out of the playoff even though they had an argument for making it in. But they didn't spend time bytching. They were determined to make a statement in the Orange Bowl and they did.
