It’s strange that league batting average is barely up because it seems like a bunch of guys are hitting .280+ and I don’t recall that last season.

Ke'Bryan Hayes has been a total disappointment at 3B.

They go out and sign Tommy Pham for 4 million when Austin Hays went for nearly the same money to the Reds. Hays has been hurt but he's a significant upgrade at the plate over Pham.

They brought back Adam Frazier on a nothing deal...like 1 million dollars. Gleyber Torres took a 1 year deal for 15M from Detroit. They couldn't take a flier on that guy?

These aren't contracts that would cripple the Pirates organization. They're just cheap. It's not like the Pirates have to spend $150M to compete. They're currently at 79M, best I can tell. Even the Royals are at 102M. You can't match KCR in spending? Bob Nutting is an embarrassment.
