I remember seeing something about them awhile back. And I was also surprised at the numbers. I think Bernie is hurt in the same way Mattingly is but without the injuries. Like Mattingly without the injuries and still no WS title probably goes in.Someone compared Bernie Williams stats with Kirby Puckett stats and it was a lot closer than one might have thought.
Does Bernie belong in the HOF? Maybe.
But it’s strange how Kirby was a no brainer and Bernie is thought of as a fringe guy for the Hall.
Bernie with the WS titles his current or close stats but a career cut short by injuries probably gets over the hump. Instead he's probably just treated like a cog in the Yankees machine of the time
I think Puckett was a no brainer. But I think being the cornerstone of a small market team. With great stats and 2 WS titles ups his legacy. Also add in Puckett losing his career in his prime due to the eye injury. He probably eclipses 3k hits, maybe 300/400 hrs without it.

at Harper saying he is willing to lose 162 games not to agree to a salary cap. Idk if that’s smart to say to Manfred, but I respect it.
