Manfred just be throwing darts at shyt. A cap isn't going to fix anything. It's more about making these owners actually spend money. You put a cap on the league okay you've stopped how much the Dodgers or Yankees spend. Meanwhile, you'll still have the Marlins or some team seeing how low they can go with their salary. For example average payroll for MLB teams is like 175M the Marlins for example are spending 66M. No salary cap is going to make them spend more money. If you make the Cap 200M the Marlins will find a way to spend 60M.

That's why I keep saying.. if there's gonna be a cap, then there has to be a floor. Something like 250M Cap with a 140M floor.

Manfred would switch places with the Savannah Bananas if he could. A game where we make up the rules as we go along and nobody cares about the outcome cuz we're having so much fun.

At best, if they're forced to spend a minimum, those teams will become a burial ground for bad salaries as long as they're getting top level prospects.

Salary floor means teams like marlins ,pirates ,rays & A’s who are cheap and don’t spend will take on the albatross contracts for prospects

So when trea turner or bogearts are 38 in year 8 of a 11-12 year contract slashing 204/300/392 with a + 72 wrc but 3-4 years 85-100 mil left , they get traded to Oakland for a top 100 prospect

True. But you gotta think it'll all even out in the end. :yeshrug:

And if they take on those contracts.. they should be rewarded for it. :manny:
