It's the responsible thing to do. They aren't paying him so cash him before he walks for nothing.

The only way they can bring him back is if they went all-in this offseason to win a World Series and Scott Harris would rather win with "his" guys.

He's gonna be 29 next season and doesn't have a high amount of innings pitched.
I'd be cool with a short term higher annual value deal but we know these players want those long term deals.
