You don't need a 1st pick, but it gives you higher chances...that's what I am trying to tell, lol.

No freaking single draft is going to bring team a championship. I am pretty sure we all agree on that.
Of course, but even making the competing for a play-in spot would be considered progress for some of these teams.

99% sure Spurs are going BPA instead of fit, they’ve always done that. I don’t see that trend breaking with the #2 pick. They’ll draft the consensus 1b player this draft.

Harper/Castle and Wemby are a jumbo guards and Center combo that should run it for quite a long time.

These small backcourts are going to hate defending that. You got Western play-off backcourts out there that are a 6-1/6-3 duo, like wtf are they going to do?

only one problem: you have Fox too and you have a team that wants to win now.

Using the 2nd overall pick on a perma backup feels like you're not getting a return on the investment.

TYRONE GA!
I flat out disagree, id be fine with that if the lottery didn't exist like the nfl . With the lottery existing there is actually zero reason a team should " try to win" because there is no reward for it, look at the wizards. Funny you bring up Philly they openly tanked and was rewarded

Shamelessly tanking should not be rewarded. NOPE.

they've changed the odds since the Philly shyt. Top 3 worse teams have a 14% chance of getting the top pick nowadays. Even a top 3 pick isn't 50% guaranteed anymore like it used to be.

Look at the 2015 odds.

Can't have it like the NFL because one person can completely change your team in the NBA vs the NFL.

I just don’t think you sacrifice building a young, physically gifted 19-21 year-old team for DeAron Fox.

It’s like the Lakers passing on Kobe because Eddie Jones is there. You can keep the three and make moves later if you need to once the two young guards develop and fill the holes with talent.

The threat of Wemby leaving is always there because it’s San Antonio and it’s Wemby so you stick to the fundamentals of building a organic team imo. Wemby can win a Championship and still want to bounce so you make sure your team still got the most talented youth it can have.

If Philly or Charlotte with their speed gets this dude it’s going to be a problem

This combine is killing Ace man.

Shorter and smaller than advertised, now getting out jumped by Cooper and Dylan.

Dude is going to get that tweener label.

Tre and V.J are boosting their stock.

The NBA is rigging the system and picking where they want franchise players to go

Spurs had I think the worst record in the league when they got Wemby but was he really going anywhere else? Everyone knows the NBA wouldn’t allow for him to go to WAS, CHA or POR as they are poorly run franchises

Now the Spurs get the 2nd overall pick to get either a really good prospect in Dylan Harper or Ace Bailey or they can put together a package for the 2nd overall pick + Castle + Barnes + one of either Keldon Johnson/Sochan/Vessell + multiple first round picks

If Giannis forces a trade by the draft a package like that is very enticing for the Bucks to kick start their rebuild
When it’s billions of dollars on the line integrity goes out the window. From a business standpoint, it makes sense for them to step in from time to time to manipulate the draft lottery. I’d rather them cheat a little bit for our entertainment, than to have teams tanking. No one wants to see the top draft pick waste away in a trash franchise.

These garbage teams make bad decisions, and throw in towel every year with the tanking. I wouldn’t reward them with anything either. Silver is running the league like the mafia, but I’m not mad at it.

Are the fukkin Spurs going to draft Ace Bailey...creating another Giannis instead of trading for him? Like, really? :unimpressed:

Fukkin franchise is the luckiest lottery team in history...every single time.
