Harper and Castle both have the size to defend multiple positions so it’s not a big deal.
Yeah pretty much what I was thinking. I said before I don’t think Harper is a #1 option, but is an easy 1b/1c who can take a 1a role on some nights. That’s great for the Spurs.

If Harper at 6’6 is your shortest player it means that even if Harper is an average shooter, it would suck to go against that team when the score is close down the stretch, especially if they’ve drawn a lot of fouls already.

If the Spurs can go with like a Wolf in the first or Yang in the late 2nd round they’ll be insanely tall, with shooting. Then Harper and Wolf/Yang can come off the bench their rookie years and by about year 3 they can be starters. The core would be legit legit by then and Wemby would only be 24.

You might have to put 3 forwards out there to guard that Spurs backcourt and that’ll mess other teams’ guard rotations all up.

If you want to “win now” then it makes no sense to trade Harper for more picks either. You got the #2 talent in a draft you were supposed to be picking around #15. There’s no guarantee future draft picks will land you a player if that caliber again. A bird in hand. Soured were potentially not even in the lottery had injuries not happened. They are far better off than most teams and have a chance to take the consensus 2nd best player this year who passes the ball and isn’t a shot chucking liability that’d send Wemby off.

Don’t overthink this. If you want to talk future draft picks they still own Atlanta’s pick swap next year along with a #14 pick this year if they want to trade.

That’s not my concern.

Castle, Fox and Harper aren’t great shooters.
Yea I would move Fox and like others have said, if Castle’s shooting doesn’t get any better then he’s expendable too. I would consider trading down if the offer is good enough too though but I would make a team pay up.

Sounding like Cedric Coward might be the Jalen Williams of this draft (As in combine performance taking his stock from late 1st-early 2nd to teens)
