Ohtani is lowkey not even a good pitcher. Teams rarely swing at his split when he does throw it. His sweeper is like a b- pitch. He really doesn't have an out pitch. Overrated

shyt is fukked up but a couple things.

1. I would have traded him cuz no matter the offer Skubal was gonna go into free agency

2. I'm not buying into Ilitch being cheap. He made a great offer

3. Boras fukked this up for Skubal. Boras was looking out for himself. His ego wanted to be the agent who reset the market.

There's an impending lockout and possible salary cap. Skubal is 28 and already had 2 elbow surgeries. You should secure a long term deal. If Skubal gets a 3rd elbow surgery he will never get the long term money he could have gotten

The rumor was 4/$100 million a year or two ago. I tend to believe that because they only offered $19 million in arbitration and he wound up getting $32 million.

What's hilarious is the contract they gave Valdez pushed Skubal's price up even higher.

No catcher has caught 140 games in a season since Yadier Molina caught 146 in 2016.

No catcher has caught 150 games since Brad Ausmus in 2000.

Jason Kendall and Russell Martin each caught 149 games in 2008.

Durability at catcher is tough.
