i mean this tournament is happening while spring training is taking place. It’s on 7 games if you make it to the championship. For instance Skubal is gonna pitch more than 3 innings in spring training. This dude came to pitch 3 innings and is done.

Some clubs didn't let guys leave. The Reds wouldn't let Elly de la Cruz play; they used the quad injury he suffered late last season as the excuse.
Lindor and Correa couldn't play for PR because he didn't have the right insurance.

Might work out for the US. Guys can only really go 3-4 innings anyway so having a bunch of weird guys throwing 82mph cutters might be better than Skubal serving up 95mph meatballs right down the middle of the plate.
What’s the difference than playing in spring training?
I would understand like nhl being it’s during the season

A Dream Team squad would get more of us to tune in. Despite the sentiment nationally, USA games avgeraged 5mil viewers of late. I Never watched before but this Year's squad got me interested, and this is FAR from the best roster we can construct.
I was on fangraphs earlier today, the majority of baseball's best players ARE AMERICAN. Based of last year's war, most of the top 20 position players are yanks, while most of the top 50 SP's are white/black Americans. If we really tried like we did in basketball, USA would by far have the best WBC roster.
