No pirate can come into Marejois and have a meeting with the Gorosei unless they have some type of affiliation with them. If BM or Kaido did that shyt they would have been attacked and arrested. It's also pretty suspect that he was able to end the war, and Sengoku stated that he was only doing it because it was him. Sure you can argue that Shanks is a peaceful guy and he wants to keep the balance of the world intact but the amount of leeway he gets for being a pirate is suspicious.
Not just that but if you have a problem with a pirate why not just deal with them yourself? He's constantly going to other people to ask them to handle it like with WB and now the Gorosei.

Chapter was def up there. I still got Zoro taking all of Luffy's pain as my favorite all series. There's a handful of real contenders though.
Shanks either has something powerful in his possession or he knows something he shouldn't and the WG doesnt want to risk it getting out.
But they also say he has the strongest crew so he may just be an overall beast as well.

And yeah, they're definitely foreshadowing that SHIELD will end up helping out the alliance. Not that it'll dissuade Akainu from trying to murk Luffy first chance he gets.
I also thought it was interesting that they confirmed that Shanks has only been a Yonko for about six years. So that means he WASN'T a Yonko at the time he first met Luffy.

It's honestly incredible that 957 chapters and I STILL get goosebumps from this series.
Most series start getting beyond stale in half that time. One Piece has been going on 2 decades. 22 YEARS of piff and it feels like we haven't even seen the best the series has to offer.

This seems like it's on point. The themes running through each arc broken down like that is something I kinda slept on as far as the progression order.
