I'd say by the end of Arlong Park you should know if you like OP or not, which is like episode 40-something.

That arc is basically the prototype for One Piece arcs. The arcs before that are pretty goofy (although Baratie had some good fights).

i made it to the 70s before giving up like 3 different times but once covid hit i binged the series and it was goat tier for me after marineford
