yea that khan shyt is fukkin stupid...i was confused with that shyt too
somebody pull my coat on this...and forgive me if this sounds really dumb...because I took most of last year off as far as watching fights because I was so disgusted with politics...
...but why does the winner of Peterson-Matthysse have to face off against the winner of Garcia-Judah THEN face Khan? (should he get past Diaz) sounds like Khan gets to do the least amount of work and still can lay claim to being the best 140lber. also, what if Diaz upsets the applecart? I can see if Khan were undefeated or undisputed...but the two guys that beat him have to fight 3 fights and he essentially only has to fight one because the Diaz fight has to be considered more of a tune up and not part of the tourney.
as I said, thats just what I see, but I am probably missing something here...
..fukk outta here

plus he never got a rematch from Garcia or Peterson.Exactly. The Garcia/Judah fight was already made. And then Peterson called Mattyhsse out. Khan already had his fight with Diaz coming up.The way I see it is the Tourney is the Tourney....The winner will be undisputed N the ring champ
After the tourney the champ needs to fight somebody right?? Khan brings the most money as an opponent so why not??plus he never got a rematch from Garcia or Peterson.
Khan fights in April so I'm pretty sure hell have another fight against tougher comp before a champ is crowned anyways.
Wilder is about to be exposed something serious...

Nope, this is the start of his decline. He (and Floyd) are so much ahead of most of the class that they won't be able to take full advantage of it though

Surely not tough enough to expect him to take Khan out
or they may as well let that person in the tourney to make it an even 6. I think Matthysse and Garcia are the favorites, but Peterson and Zab could win two fights. No on Khan is fighting is as good at this point as any of those 4 fighters.
Exactly. The Garcia/Judah fight was already made. And then Peterson called Mattyhsse out. Khan already had his fight with Diaz coming up.
Khan isn't a part of the tourney. He'd just be the first challenger. And I'm sure if he somehow beat the winner of the tourney, he'd have to fight the runner up at some point. And no matter what happens to Garcia and Peterson, he has to get those rematches in anyway.

The last thing I care about is who brings the most money. This is a tournament to decide who is the best...after which that person can fight whoever. Put it like this....let the winner between those 3 fights be crowned the best and Khan gets a shot at them. Its the same thing, but the wording and premise is fukked up.
I dont feel Khan is entitled to a rematch just off GP, he aint Pacquiao or somebody... although those guys would be glad to give him one. As far as Khan fighting another opponent...just how tough do you think that opponent will be?Surely not tough enough to expect him to take Khan out

The notion that no one is the best until they face Khan is part of the reason I stopped watching boxing in the first place. Next they will be saying he cleaned out the division.![]()

So you ain't mad at the winner of the Tournament fighting Khan....You mad at the way it is presented??
Breh Khan was knocked into next week by Danny Garcia....nikka had them new born baby Giraffe legs....GBP jus trying to build him back up that's all... doin they Job....Khan talks a lot of shyt which gains fans interest, he still got fans, I don't see why he wouldn't be next in line for the winner
Amir Khan excited to see who the world’s number-one 140-pounder is: looking ahead to Golden Boy tourney
By James Slater
Former WBA/IBF 140-pound king Amir Khan is eagerly looking ahead to the planned mini-tournament Golden Boy have planned for the light-welterweights. Khan, speaking with Sky Sports’ new Toe To Toe podcast, spoke of the in-the-works five man tourney and the fact that, by year’s end, the 140-pound division will have a recognised number-one champion.
Khan, who faces former lightweight champ Julio Diaz on April 27th, says he is set to watch Danny Garcia-Zab Judah unfold (also on April 27th), then Lamont Peterson-Lucas Matthysse on May 18th, with the two winners to then meet at a date TBA, with the winner of that fight to then face Khan himself by the end of 2013.
“Golden Boy said they are going to do a mini tournament,” Khan, 27-3(19) said. “It’s going to be Garcia-Judah, the winner fights the winner of Matthysse and Peterson, and at the end of the year the winner of that fights me. The reason they fight me at the end is because I can’t fight in the middle because I’ve got Ramadam.
“Hopefully we’ll know by the end of the year who the best 140-pound fighter is and that’s going to be between the five of us.”
26-year-old Khan made it clear he is not underestimating Diaz, who he says is “another dangerous opponent for me,” but he is looking ahead to reclaiming his status as the division’s premiere fighter.
Khan gave his predictions on Garcia-Judah and Peterson-Matthysse:
“I think Peterson will stay nice and tucked up. I think Peterson might just take that fight but it’s going to be an exciting fight. Garcia and Judah is going to be another big one. I think Judah is probably past it now, but maybe for three or four rounds he will be good to watch. But after that I think Garcia will probably pick up and beat him.”
It sounds like Khan – who was out-pointed by Peterson and then stopped in the 4th-round by Garcia – is expecting a chance at avenging one of his defeats by the year’s end. The Bolton man is currently 1-0 under new trainer Virgil Hunter.
