pretty embarrassing..Burns did look a bit dominant in the last two rounds but still im disappointed..

He was dominant cause Gonzalez barely did anything. When they were both fresh he got dominated. Can't hate on him for out-hearting his opponent though. That's how we separate the real from the fake in boxing.

clarify a little more please..

Burns will need to work on a few things with his style. He was getting outmatched pretty bad. His heart and chin basically saved him as mentioned..

im almost thinking that gonzalez threw the fukking fight..i just don't get it..after that 7th round dude had a shutout on my card..he could have had just one round to throw everything he had left in his gas tank and then get on his bicycle for the remaining rounds and he would have still won clearly

I hate how floyd fans always say "Floyd could beat x,y,z if he wanted to" Then why doesn't he just fight people and silence the critics?

There must be something Floyd knows that his stans don't?:dwillhuh:

Because its much more to the business of boxing than we see on the surface. The business of boxing today is not like it was in Muhammad Ali's day. Boxing has always been a business but because so many people try and exploit boxing for money, it gets more watered down by the day.

One of the biggest factors are these belts. If Floyd was the only fighter with a belt then he would have to fight mandatory after mandatory after mandatory.

The multiple belts are to give casual fans the notion that a fighter is a world champion. So in order for these fighters to make money, they go for the belts rather than wait their turn and be mandated.

For instance, if Paul Williams wouldve just been ranked by the WBC and fought up to the mandatory spot then likely he wouldve faced Floyd. If Floyd wouldve vacated it wouldve been bad press and Paul would still fight for the legitimate title. The rout Paul's team took was to get the WBO title and make some quick money. Well, he did. He made a substantial amount before his injury, more than he would have by waiting to become mandatory for Mayweather. At the same time, if he wouldve waited and got to Mayweather, he likely wouldve made more in that fight and subsequent fights than he did going the route that he took.

Of course rankings are corrupted and thats a whole other story. Belts are only one part of the problem, but that was just an example. There is no reason for Floyd to fight PW if there are more lucrative opportunities on the table. The "business" today is not about the best fighting the best but which fight makes most financial sense. I hate it, but what can you do?

Breh... answer me this...

How is Arum gonna try to make a fight for one of his fighters when the opponent wont accept any less than 100% ppv revenue, gate, and concessions??. You don't even need to answer right away, just think about it for a little while and get back at me through a pm :skip:

All the excuses Arum came out with did he ever bring up the 100% PPV for Floyd as a reason the fight could not get made??

From 2/1/12
Mayweather Discusses Cotto Fight, Shreds Pacquiao, More - Boxing News

Mayweather:" I presented Pacquiao with the fight. Pacquiao is blowing a lot of smoke up everybody's ass. He doesn’t really want to fight. I tried to get him to step up to the plate. We're talking about a $10 million dollar fighter that I tried to give $40 million dollars*to, and we didn't even talk about the backend. Everything that everybody is hearing is a bunch of lies. I got proof. The proof is in the pudding. I got proof from all of my meetings with [Pacquiao’s adviser] Michael Koncz."

According to Floyd he offered 40 million without even discussing the back end which makes sense cuz if Cotto can get ppv why wouldn't :deadmanny:

Floyd and his camp was erry where during that time trying to set up the fight....why go thru all that trouble for show when the public demand for that fight died down considerably?? Arum didn't want the damn fight...Floyd wanted it....I believe :deadmanny: wanted it Arum did not N Arum goin do what he wanna do
