Only 12 per cent of boxing media agree that Danny Garcia deserved to beat Mauricio Herrera | Latest | Boxing News - boxing news, results, rankings, schedules since 1909
Nothing of value can be taken away from that fight from Garcia.........whether you thought he won or loss, robbery or close fight. If at all possible, please set aside any stannery for what I am about to say
Matthysse-Molina was a slugfest, won by LM in brutal fashion. Molina is not a good boxer (see the Klimov fight), but he doesn't quit and hits like a truck (see the Mickey Bey fight). The LM bout was not supposed to be as competitive as it was, much like Herrera-Garcia, only LM got him out of there and avoided media and fan backlash from his performance. Garcia did not, and allowed it to go to the scorecards in a close, competitive bout that never had any defining moments by the champion.
And as far as the DeMarco fight goes, yes it was prematurely stopped, HOWEVER, Molina takes responsibility for getting stunned and not simply taking a knee while backed into the ropes putting the ref in the position to stop the fight. Again, not a smart boxer. I'd love to see a rematch, but TR/GB blah blah blah.......
Oh, and I'd also like to state that as much as I favor Unification.Over.Everything, Golovkin-Fletcher is an OK bout. Murray has looked like shyt lately, and Geale-Macklin is actually more appealing to me to see which one of these guys is pretending to be a top 10 middleweight, and which one actually is.
