Cotto takin a beatin in here...

I think he's got ONE last stand in him....and this isn't Sergio from a few years ago.

Plus if this goes to the cards in the garden on PR parade weekend....biggest home crowd advantage you could have in the sport.

i keep saying this. nikkkas keep thinking some some injury prone, 39 yo fighter who looked like complete shyt his last fight is gonna roll back in time to the williams and pavlik fight. :comeon: there's a reason WHY cotto took this fight now! as much as i went against cotto through the years (mosley, judah, clottey, pinto, torres) i must say he's more than a live dog in this fight. history is very likely to be made june 7.

With the wars that Cotto has been in Martinez at 39>>>>Cotto at 33

And let's not act like this is the Cotto from a few years ago either, this is the same Cotto that got his ass whooped by Trout now he is going to move up one division higher and shyts going to be all good? :usure:

Martinez did not look like himself in his last performance, but he did enough to win a very close decision against a young, hungry contender who had just gave another champion, Felix Sturm, everything he could handle in a draw.

However, as long as Martinez can roll back in time to the Chavez Jr. fight, I think he'll be more than fine.

Cotto on the other hand is still vulnerable to taller, athletic fighters with long jabs and activity. Beyond that, he hasn't really shown me that he's sturdy enough to take a powerful middleweight's punch nor outbox someone such as Sergio. IMHO he should've retired after the Mayweather loss. He did his thing against the post-Mosley/Pac-man Margarito and could bow out after fighting the best fighter in the world.

That fight with Trout was not a display of domination. Trout won more on Cotto doing NOTHING. And Cotto still won 3-4 rounds somehow. Trout should have shut him out, Cotto had no gameplan, no focus, and no effort that whole fight.

I don't know where Cotto's head was at that fight but it wasn't in the ring.

He'll be focused this time around, too much at stake for him not to be.

That fight with Trout literally did nothing to his reputation or potential paydays. It's almost like it never happened.

This fight will add to or stain his legacy depending the outcome. Also has a shot @ Canelo with a W too.

He's got one left in em. Just one though.

Cotto fans like to think this but it did happen :heh:

I don't want to hear any excuses come fight night

Cotto barely won 3 rounds against Trout and had his face busted the fukk up afterwards, but yeah the fight never happened. :mjlol:

Sergio is going to hurt a lot of feelings come fight night.

haha I know it happened, trust me...

I'm saying big picture, he wasn't knocked out, his name still has value, and he still got this fight on HIS terms.

If anything, Chino did more to hurt Cotto's legacy by giving Mayweather the bigger scare. Up til 2 weeks ago, Cotto gave Mayweather his hardest fight in years.

No excuses breh...although his crocs may give him plantar fasciatis, and in that case I got my excuse on deck :takedat:

cotto-trout i was convinced that there was going to be some scoring fukkery to mask the fact trout beat the shyt out of cotto convincingly..it was a pleasant surprise that there wasn't

I felt the exact same way. Rare case of all 3 judges seeing the same fight we did.

shyt is :mindblown: Cotto beats at 154lb jobber and dudes are like ":obama: He'll be fine at 160lbs"

Sergio didn't look great against Murray but he got the job done, hell some would say Murray would probably give Cotto the beats at this point. :sas1:

Cotto has issues with dudes bigger than he is and with dudes who are faster, Martinez is both and stronger. :sas2:
