lol i like amir, i just like his commitment and heart..so leave him be..lol
but hunter is overrated as fukk.

I dont get hunter, he was saying a couple of days ago that his fighter wasnt at the level of degale yet, and would have to fight out of his skin to get the result. Dude was getting his ass kicked, cant really argue with the stoppage

I think he has just been an easy target lately. I like Donaire and there are a lot of good things about him.
He probably will never be his super aggressive self or have the quickness he used to have. But, he definitely looked better than he did vs. Vic.
People forget he is the ONLY boxer (as far as I've heard) to do the year round VADA testing. 24/7, 365 (at Donaire's own expense) he can be tested to make sure he is substance free.

I'm not too hard on him either for yesterday. HBO's feed was pretty bad, so you couldn't tell the exact moment he got cut, but he definitely was butted 3 or 4 times in the fight, including around when the cut appeared. As fans we def love fighters who are warriors and fight through, but if it was a butt, Donaire was at a huge disadvantage for the rest of the fight - it was a really bad one - so I don't blame him for wanting to win/lose at his best.
Plus, I agreed with the judges - I had Donaire up 3-1, plus an extra point for the KD. Vetyeka really wasn't doing anything, except landing a few quick shots here and there. Fight seemed to be going Donaire's way and the only thing that appeared to hurt his chances was that eye.
:yeshrug:

edit: And I liked his post fight interview as well. He didn't want any credit for the fight or the KD. He said he owed Vetyeka a rematch so it could be decided by the fighters themselves.

I read somewhere that Arum was planning on throwing the Donaire rematch on the undercard of Manny's next fight in China. If he does in fact go through with it, that's a massive step up for a Top Rank card and actually got me wondering why they never put those two on a card together before. shyt been made sense, but this is the same dude that wanted JuanMa/Gamboa to cook some more after fans already reached the peak of anticipation for it.

ARLINGTON, Texas -- A crowd of 50,994 turned out for the first boxing match at the $1.2 billion Cowboys Stadium on Saturday night, the third largest crowd for an indoor fight in boxing history.

The original seating configuration for the card headlined by the Manny Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey fight was for 45,000, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said it could go higher if needed. There were about 42,000 seats sold as of Friday, and stadium officials decided to sell standing-room only "party passes" for $35.

Numbers aren't your strong point :sas1:

CapacityFootball: 80,000 (expandable to 105,000 with standing room)[12][13]

Common sense isn't your strongpoint...
What was the point of bringing up what the stadium can "expand" to incase the event reaches max capacity..

The normal cap is 80k and 50k showed up

The average attendance since it opened was over 85k per season for football . . . Pac barely filled as it holds 100k for boxing

To bring it back to your original point - MGM grand holds 16800, not 12k. Numbers not your strong point . . . dumbass :sas2:

EDIT -

Paid Attendance For Pacquiao-Margarito Fight Just Over 30,000
-
SportsBusiness Daily | SportsBusiness Journal | SportsBusiness Daily Global

Pacquiao's 12-round pummeling of Antonio Margarito on Nov. 13 delivered a paid attendance of 30,437 and ticket revenue of $5.4M. That was down from 36,371 paid and $6.3M when he beat Joshua Clottey at the stadium in March. Actual attendance for the two fights was similar: 40,154 this time, down from 41,843 last time. Comps increased from 5,472 to 9,717. The Cowboys announced a crowd of 50,994 for the first fight, but documents showed that figure to be wildly inflated.

I knew you were full of shyt :mjlol:

i just realized i need to catch those hbo latino fights from last night..i passed out a little before the fights started...i was reading that fortuna got put through it in that fight
Fortuna looked every bit of needing more experience. He showed good footwork, athletic ability and quickness...but so much need for experience.
Roy Jones was absolutely right in that Rodriguez will look at the tape and be disappointed. Had he upped his work rate, it is possible he could have won the fight or gotten a couple KD's in the fight.
Fortuna was knocked down by a jab, that the ref ruled a slip...he also touched his glove to the canvas ducking away from punches and was never ruled on by the ref...and he kept blowing his nose, causing his eyes to really swell up.
He looked every bit a talented prospect that has a lot of talent, but needs more ring work.
