Paul Williams is one guy that Im not sure if anyone woulda beat at welterweight. Like Pullhoez alluded to, some considered PWill the most ducked fighter in the sport at one point. Im starting to tear up thinkin about that Margarito Punisher fight, about to find a link to that

if he had a jab maybe, but he faught stupid

I agree that he fought stupid but because of his height, reach, punch output and size, he wouldnt had been an easy matchup for anybody.

Like who? Everybody ducked him at 147. Nobody at that weight class wanted that problem. A 6'2 dude who threw 100 punches a round? Especially after he beat Margarito, nobody wanted to step in a ring with him

him and magarito were a good match up because they are both tall, they both throw a lot of punches, and they both fight stupid
theres ways to stop boxers who throw a lot of punches (check marquez pacquaio 4, mosley margarito, and many others)
a smart fighter will always beat a dumb fighter

Nobody saying he's the top welterweight ever. He's generally regarded as the most avoided fighter in boxing during that time period, just look back at that time from 2007-2009 nobody wanted to see him at 147. Yeah he didnt use his height like he should've, but he wasnt Tommy Hearns and his trainer didnt teach him to be that way. His pressure and activity simply overwhelmed fighters and he had a iron chin at 147. Only way you beat him is if you were a slick southpaw.

No shyt Columbo, Floyd Mayweather woulda schooled PWill at any point. I was speaking from the perspective of a boxing fan back in 07. After PWill beat Margarito (another highly ducked fighter) he was considered by many to be nearly untouchable at welterweight. Not me, just boxing fans in general. And i dont care how poor the Punishers skills was, maybe he didnt fight as tall as he was but he didnt fight like he was small either. He just fought stupid, coulda still thrown about 75% of the punches he threw but got hit much less if he was smarter

Cotto, Mosley, basically every big name or top guy at 147 ducked him. Only way you beat Paul Williams were if you were a southpaw that could move. Which is what Carlos Quintana did in their first fight, but P-Will destroyed him in the rematch.

I wouldnt call him a dumb fighter, he was a pressure fighter that threw a lot of punches. When you throw a lot you get hit right back, he had a tough style to deal with. It's hard getting swarmed by a tall guy that throws that many punches.

Eh I cant say Mosley would have knocked out Paul Williams. P-Will had a damn good chin especially at 147. He walked through and ate bombs from Walter Matthysse and Antonio Margarito for 12 rounds each
