yeah that is odd. I've wondered that myself since there have been kickboxers who have started in kickboxing and became very successful in boxing. Holly Holm Vitali Klitschko for one.Interesting to me how the Netherlands so good in kickboxing but they are pretty much nowhere to be found in boxing...
The talent is there...
When I lived there I asked my Dutch friends about this they said boxing isn't that popular among youth there, rather kickboxing or MMA. It's a pity...
you're right Dutch fighters kinda ruled K-1... Ernesto Hoost, Peter Aerts, Remy Bonjasky, Zimmermann, Badr Hari, Alistair Overeem, Semmy Schilt, Gökhan Saki...
Not all of these are Dutch born or still fighting out fro there but all of them came from the Dutch system.
Hoost, Bonjasky and Spong are Surinamese-Dutches
Zimmermann is from Curacao
Hari is a Moroccoan descent
Saki is Turkish descent
Schilt, Verhoefen and Aerts are white dudes all born in the Netherlands if I know it right
I watched K-1 in its golden era, HW was filled with talent

Adrien Broner: Make Numbers Right - I'll Fight Burns in The UK
By Edward Chaykovsky
Former four division world champion Adrien Broner (32-2, 24 KOs) is prepared to pack up his luggage and fly over to the UK for a showdown with Ricky Burns (41-5-1, 14 KOs) - if the money is right.
The two boxers were slated to face each other at 130-pounds, but then Burns moved up to lightweight. After Broner moved up to the lightweight division, there was more talk of them facing each other, but Burns once again moved up to junior welterweight. Broner skipped 140 and went all the way up to welterweight to capture a world title. After losing to Marcos Maidana, he dropped down to 140 to capture another world title.
Last fall, there was a lot of talk that Broner and Burns would finally collide in the early part of 2017 in Las Vegas. Their negotiations fell apart when Broner decided to go in another direction, but it's not exactly clear what prompted Broner's decision.

Broner is now scheduled to fight on February 18 against Adrian Granados, while Burns will take part in a WBA, IBO, IBF junior welterweight unification with Julius Indongo on April 15 in Glasgow.
Broner has no problem with entertaining a fight against Burns, and he's willing to give up the home advantage, if Burns' promoter Eddie of Matchroom Sport comes calling with the right financial package.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Broner said: “It’s going to be an enormous year for me and I’m at a much more positive, great stage and on a real good path now. My fight is on February 18, but before that two of my fighters, Rau’shee Warren and Robert Easter Jr, are fighting on February 10 defending world titles so big things are going on.
“I would love to face Ricky Burns and most definitely you could get me to the UK. Make my numbers right and we will have one hell of a fight.”

Time to take #AboutBillions across seas![]()

I'd rather watch Crawford vs the winner of Idongo vs Burns to have an undisputed champion. Of course if Indongo beats Burns' ass the Broner can fight him...![]()

Burns ain't gonna fight Crawford again....it's more money facing Adrien Broner than Crawford & Crawford already beat Burns.
Found this video of Paulie Malignaggi talking to Broner, discussing why he turned down the Burns fight....but telling Broner he should take it instead, in order to be the 1st person to stop Burns & win 2 belts in 1 night
#AboutBillions
:aboutbillions:

Broner just said he doesn't think about Crawford like yesterday or so... and I want Crawford to move up soon so him staying in 140 waiting out till Burns and Broner fight then probably thewiner of that has to deal with an IBF mandatory and then MAYBE they can make the fight... While Crawford does what...?I rather broner fight burns.
then have unification between Crawford....they need to build that fight
Broner's opponents don't get significantly better money than Crawford opponents...
Allakherdiev only earned 50k against Broner. I think you overvalue the net worth of Broner or underrate the worth of Crawford.
Their only common opponent got 400 k against Crawford and 450k against Broner that's not some huge difference ad if you add two plus belts in the mix Crawford could be easily the better sounding offer.
But you're right in Burns probably doesn't want to run that back, I'll root for Indongo on their fight anyways...

then broner vs craw winner gets ......pac![]()

No, just cut the corners, let Indongo beat Burns and then Indongo vs Crawford early summer and then Crawford can move up... In the meantime while he's waiting he could beat Lipinets, looks like a solid opponent at least
