Part of me doesn't want to watch this becuase of how much a clown Charlamagne is when it comes to boxing.

This nikka has the worst opinions Ive ever heard.

EDIT: just as I thought, 22 minutes of Charlamagne sucking Floyd's dikk. :stopitslime:

What did you expect? Any time there is anyone who can physically intimidate him or has real street credentials, Charlemagne throws all that tough guy trolling comedy shyt in the bushes.

I don't think the Canelo came to fight Trout can keep up with Floyd.

Floyd will exploit Canelo's poor conditioning.

On the flip side, some of the stuff he did against Trout would also give Floyd problems too. Canelo's size, strength, fast hands, power, his underrated boxing skills and ring smarts gives him the BEST chance to win.

He can be in the best shape of his life. Conditioning is the least of his worries. Seeing Floyd on TV and ringside is different than being in the ring with him. Just too damn elusive.

I think these last few fights is the closes thing we'll see to the original "Pretty Boy Floyd" defensively. But i'll be damned if he keeps pot shottin' his way to victory. After 12 rounds that shyt does get really repetitive. I mean at least throw some combos in there! :what:

I am really skeptical about that FMJ vs Cotto fight. I think he will look more like he did against Ghost from here out. He is just in great shape and his timing stays sharp in the gym. He will keep pot shottin, thats what makes him so hard to beat. He took risks in some of his fights, he can stand and deliver, but it shortens your career and thats why he wont throw combos. He doesnt want to get hit. He couldve stopped a lot more people if he would commit to his punches but when he throws he is already getting out of the way at the same time. We've seen Floyd bloodied before, against Augustus, the first JLC fight, Cotto, etc. He wont fight like that against Canelo. Remember when Sr. went crazy after that Augustus fight? Remember how Floyd stood toe to toe with Castillo in the first fight but did him like Guerrero in the 2nd? Remember how he didnt sit still for Corrales? The guys is not stupid.

There is a way to get Floyd to take risks though, you have to hurt him early when he doesnt have a lead. You saw it with Mosley. He will go flatfooted to get the lead back. Its unfortunate they didnt rule that Zab knockdown, because that couldve forced FMJ to stand and deliver more because Zab wouldve clearly been up the first 4 rounds with the KD. That wouldve gave Zab more opportunities.

Nevertheless. Floyd will never fight towards Canelo's strengths. He will analyze them then avoid them.

Dan Rafael ‏@danrafaelespn 8h Richard Schaefer told me @abnermares00's next fight could either be a Mexican homecoming fight or Sept. 14 on Floyd's next card. #boxing

you know....I am really skeptical of these early numbers. I would be surprised if this was less than 1 million buys. Really. With CBS doing the promo and all, I would expect there to be many more buys than what is being reported.

I could be wrong, and that would only prove that Showtime is not ready for the big time yet and will have to make some serious adjustments beginning with finding a more marketable opponent for Floyd's next fight.

Really though, I always gripe about undercards. No one does it like  and even Top Rank is not as shytty as GBP. These fights arent worth $70...I surely dont pay that much for them. I get a discount so I pay about $40....I will fukk that up on a dinner or a trip to the sporting goods store randomly. Still, $40 is not really worth it to me. Only paid it so I could come in and chat it up with you guys here. A lot of people are streaming these fights now....so that plays a part too.

Nevertheless, better undercards may get more real fans like us to buy but not the casual fan...and I use that term casual loosely. No. Floyd needs better opponent or at least a "perceived" better opponent.

Showtime is still much smaller than HBO especially as far as their market outlet when it comes to boxing. Plus I am sure the fallout between GBP and HBO played a hand in lackluster numbers. Just by removing all of Floyd's content off of HBOGO has hurt this fight I guarantee you.

GBP is not experienced in promotion, they are noted as being extremely unorganized. Mayweather promotions brings little to the table to offset that inexperience which was masked when GBP was doing business with HBO.

If these numbers are below 1 million :snoop: they need to get creative fast. Maybe serve Ishe to Canelo to make Canelo undisputed, and maybe bring in Trout as Mayweather's next opponent. Building for undisputed 154 championship fight for May, sort of like a 4 man tourney....but on the same CARD! Because if the numbers from Ghost fight are that bad, I will have to backtrack on Danny being the next opponent.

Good ideas, I agree that the cards are weak and that GBP slack in the promoting department

But tell me more about that discount :leostare:

@Newzz that AB episode got Broner looking like a violent drunkard :skip:

All honesty I really hope Cotto wins,

I knows he's past his prime, but I'm a huge fan.

One thing I don't understand is his style...

Why does he hold his hands so close to his face while in the gaurd.

In the last fight Trout didnt have to tag the face anymore, he was just hitting Cotto's gloves making him punch his own face.

Why does a guy how bruises so easily, hold a gaurd like that? :dwillhuh:

Cotto is a guy who doesnt have elusive head or upper body movement. He uses his feet a lot. He has to be in tremendous shape to fight the way he does and he still gets fatigued because he moves on his toes so much. So he is a really good defensive fighter to not have much upper body movement. It is not as effective against the top opposition though. I think because he never had elite athleticism growing up, he picked up the high guard along the way to protect his head. *It also could be from his uncle, because Bruseles fought the same way. It works for him and got him this far...but its not something he can change.

*people always say Floyd ducked Cotto in 05, but thats bullshyt, every last word of it. Floyd told TR "get me Cotto". TR said lets set it up first against a similar opponent. they fed Bruseles (same style and same camp) to :moneymay: and he got ate up. duBoef said FOH Floyd and never made the fight. duBoef is no dummy. thats how he became President of TR.

 they NEVER wanted to stop the Cotto money train.

I do network design for the cable companies. Or else I couldnt afford pay tv. shyt too high. and I rarely watch live, network, or pay tv for anything outside of sports.

GBP dont know what they are doing. At least not like the Bobfather or DK.

sn: This is one reason I think people are sleeping on 50. Once his foot gets in the door and he gets the right alliances...he is gonna do good. I mean do yall remember that 50 was basically an underground rapper backed by Trackmasters. he was talented. but then the guy gets shot 9 times and as soon as he gets out of the hospital he signin a 7 figure deal with Shady/Aftermath. the dude stole Ja Rule's energy and made a lucrative career off the momentum of being shot and having a reputation for "walking it like he talked it". Meanwhile he signin OOPs. :mike:

Once that gettin shot 9 times shyt played out, what happened? 50 gonna be a good promoter, trust me.

You don't have to tell me. I grew up in South Jamaica and saw that shyt happen with my own eyes :whew:

I like 50 but I also think his stable is made of fighters who can be beat and their fight schedule is inconsistent
Dirrell fighting once a year :beli:

If you can ever share that discount LMK :takedat:
