somehow I dont think a Cotto fight is as big if Canelo gets washed like Guerrero did. Cotto may be looking for other opportunities by then. Cotto surely aint gonna wait til mid-year 2014 to fight Canelo, he wouldve moved on and possibly added another L by then. which would render the fight pointless to Canelo. fighting a guy who lost to the guy he beat and possibly having another loss back to back.
as far as TWICE the bread. if that fight does 1.5 mil, which is more likely in May than this year....I dont see why Floyd wouldnt...when thats only half of what he offered the Pac Man. He is already gonna get at least $32 off top like he did with Ghost. Plus Canelo will have rallied all of Mexico by that time.

We can truly gauge after Canelo has a PPV with Cotto, even still it will be subjective considering Manny has been hiding his numbers for years, and Manny besides the Bradley fight always had a dance partner that could bring in buys

Floyd is asking him to make the WW limit. I havent read yet that Floyd wont allow him to come in the ring as a MW or more. If he does..hey...he's a shrewd dude.

I don't understand why Cotto gets all these looks after 1 loss, much less 2, but I assume his fanbase will rock with him until knocked out. Mexican fans stuck by Oscar for EVERY loss, and losing to mayweather doesn't lessen your payday or chances only because he beats everyone. Look at Marquez....shyt long as Canelo doesn't get knocked out I assume he could fight Cotto right after and if he wins by a large margin get the Floyd rematch for his last fight...Floyd cashes out, Canelo goes on winning streak beating opponents not ready for him. Everyone wins..

Canelo is basically a super middle weight who drains to junior middleweight the rehydrates and uses that as a advantage. So it's not basically a catchweight if Canelo wants the fight...Floyd would damn near have to fight someone 5 weight classes bigger.

absolutely not. its a chance to fight for a title in another division....not a catchweight.
was Ward vs Dawson a catchweight? a catchweight means an agreement to fight at weights with restriction that is out of the ordinary.
weighing in at 147 means just that. you are fighting for the welterweight title. there's no "catch" to it. you either want the title or you dont.

Guys fight with these size disadvantages all the time in MMA, where size matters a lot fukking more. shyt, we just had a discussion a few pages back about how size don't matter as much as skills.

you are looking at it wrong breh....Floyd said he doesnt do catchweights...meaning he dont meet in between weights to fight. Manny vs Margs was a CW because Manny wanted a fight in another division even though he didnt weigh in at the division limit....so by adding a CW you dont give a fighter the opportunity to weigh in at his divisional limit. DLH-Hopkins was a CW. (just so you dont think I am picking on Manny)
CW is if Floyd asked Canelo for a JMW fight but does not allow him to use the JMW limit. He is not doing that, he is asking him to fight as a WW. Whether you agree with that or not, you are not wrong for doing so. However you would be wrong for calling it a CW.
