:wtf:

Former two-time world champion Juan Manuel “Juanma” Lopez is completely focused in his next fight against the World Boxing Organization (WBO) champion Miguel Angel “Mikey” Garcia on June 15 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas in a Top Rank presentation to be broadcast on HBO.

Juanma Lopez (33-2, 30 KOs), who is ranked #4 by the WBO in the featherweights, weighed today 138 pounds, of a 144.9 pounds maximum, as part of the Puerto Rico Professional Boxing Commission’s 30 day pre weigh-in. He appeared with a bruise on his face because he fell yesterday in his morning work. “In reaction work with the medicine ball, I slipped on the on the wet track and fell, unbelievable, that’s the first time in my career,” said Lopez laughing.

“We are working to make the weight and to get the best condition. Our goal was to make 139 pounds today and we made 138, it’s so good,” said Lopez, who was going to train after the pre weigh in. “We are one month before the fight and I’m feeling very good with the training. As we made two fights (in February and April) this year, I kept in the gym all the time. We want to be in 131 or 132 pounds next week and work with that weight for the finals weeks, but I’m so good, eating good and in a good mood.”

Mikey Garcia (31-0, 26 KOs) comes off a spectacular win over Orlando Salido to win the WBO featherweight belt on January 19, when he sent Salido four times to the canvas. Garcia won by technical decision in nine rounds when he hurt his nose after an accidental headbutt and didn’t continue the fight.

“I think that styles make the fights and I know that the style of Mikey Garcia is good for me. We are working in it, but also for anything he brings,” said Lopez.

Lol here we go again

From sr own words floyd is a 140lb fighter and to think that fighters like margarito or paul williams wouldve ever really been considered at any point

Smh at throwing out sergio as well but of course according sr his son would beat canelos ass but but but but we need him to come down to a weight he hasnt fought in 3 yrs and is not a champ at 147 but of course flyod kills canelo

Basically this fight will never happen cause canelo cant fo down to 147 and evidently floyd can only fight some fighters at 154 and jus for future reference if they were to agree to a 150 catchweight u already know floyd is gonna come down with the 70/30split and floyd geta all the ppv revenue

Classic cant wait for vs kahn or alexander only so I can watch floyds greatness aganst "great" opponent lol

there is no "great" opponent. alexander, garcia, etc...they may not be the ideal opponents or fights we want to see, but Canelo isnt any better than them, only more hyped.

if a fighter would actually go through the ranks and vanquish fighters they would get an opportunity. Corrales was blowing through opponents and was a threat to FMJ's supremacy and it was the biggest money fight for both and an intriguing fight people wanted to see.

it wouldve been ok to see Marg or PW, but they were no Corrales'. PW was busy doing return matches with Quintana and Margs had broke both of Clottey's hands with his face. but thats the way it goes, people build up challenges in their mind.

there was no way Floyd could duck Corrales. (R.I.P.)

Maybe Jr. should take Andre Ward's challenge for September :mjpls:

So much wrong wit this :snoop:

Chavez bout to get that Mexico Money :takedat:

Hadn't fought in damn near a year coming off a loss why would he move up to 168 M face the champ without a tuneup at that weight first??....Not to mention there is already 2 ppvs in September N they ain't goin risk a Chavez loss not on PPV

What Ward needs to do is stop "getting hurt" annually....fight outside of the Bay area N get some fans N stop fighting Euros:stopitslime:

168 and Cruiser might as well be called Euroweight and Super Euroweight. That's all that's there. The only fight still for Ward at 168 is a rematch against the winner of Froch/Kessler.

What's at 175 for him, outside of Hopkins, though? He destroyed the best LHW in the world in his last fight. The reality is Ward is in a tough spot because there really is a dearth of talent above 160 in boxing. He already won the biggest fight possible. What's left is to fight guys from 160 and because Chavez is OBVIOUSLY big enough to fight at 168 with no issue, he's the most rational target.

Ain't shyt there either :heh:

Ward is about to suffer from RJJ Career Syndrome. The Super Six was the best/worst thing to happen to him. Yeah he's the man now, but he's already taken down the big names for much less money. There's always a talent/name vacuum between 160 and heavyweight.

ward would beat the living shyt out of chavez
but he is in a really shytty position.
Synistir why are you so high on Peterson? His body work is great everything else is above-average. He keeps his head too stationary, he can out box LM but I don't think it's going to come down to boxing skills

N this nikka wants to stay at 168 where there are 0 fights....they tried to drag Pavlik outta the gutter to fight Ward for gods sake:wtb:

Chavez didn't have a issue making weight for Martinez N all the big fights are at 160 move up for what?? After Ward ain't shyt else for Chavez at 168... Ward ain't no draw N if the fight ain't in the Bay all the fans will be Chavez jrs... stay at 160 possibly fight Murray, Martinez rematch, GGG

Yall think Arum would let Chavez move up to 168 N fight Ward with out having a belt there first let alone without a tune up??:usure:

I wouldnt say I am high on Peterson...I am just no overly impressed by Matthysse. LP a 2 1/2 underdog to LM, really? By what basis? it has to be based on the fact that no one anticipates Peterson to fail a drug test this time, thus saying a clean Peterson is no match for LM. I dont think Peterson, LM, or Garcia are head and shoulders above each other. They are at the same level to me with some getting their opportunities before others.

Garcia has made the most of his so far. Peterson has had mixed success. LM though??? He could be the king right now had he closed the show against Judah and Alexander. He didnt. I think that is more of an indication of the type of fighter he isnt, moreso that what he is.

I dont see a reason why Team Chavez would want that fight. He makes millions without the risk of stepping in with Ward...and for what? A Ward fight doesnt bring him any more than the Martinez fight did.
