-Adonis Stevenson holds all the cards right now...so many options, though he may HAVE to face Tony Bellew next, the mandatory.
Bellew aint chit tho.... :putamadre: I definitely think Stevenson puts his ass to sleep

that's eerily similar to how Tarver caught Roy, except Stevenson's eyes weren't closed

Home Depot Center, Carson, California - Welterweight contender Marcos Maidana (34-3, 31KOs) says a shot to the hip in Saturday's fight against Josesito Lopez (30-6, 18KOs) was a serious concern in the fight. During the action, Maidana stated that his leg went numb and he had trouble moving for at least two rounds, which allowed Lopez to rally strong with big punches.
Once the pain in his hip went away, Maidana was very confident that he was capable of knocking Lopez out. The end came in the sixth, after Maidana dropped Josesito and then followed up by trapping him against the ropes and letting his hands go with hard landed punches.
"He hit me on the hip and then I was in a lot of pain. My leg was numb and I couldn't really move well. That's when he landed his punches. I was doing everything I could to protect my leg, because I was afraid that if I get hit there again then I wouldn't be able to continue," Maidana stated.
"I'm lucky that he doesn't that hard because [another fighter might have] knocked me out [in that situation]. He let me off the hook, but I didn't let him off the hook. Once my leg was feeling better [around the fifth round], I was very confident that I was going to knock him out. Robert Garcia really helped me a lot in the corner. When I told him that my leg was bothering, he said 'we came here to go to war' and that's what I went out there and did."
honestly, i like zabs chances better for this fight than the garcia fight. but if this fight comes off, arum will most likely try to get options on zab next fight. zab has always been an easy guy to work with.
-Josesito Lopez...so much heart, will and determination...but he can't take these HEAVY handed punchers back to back like this. I like the kid, maybe a bout with some softer touches will do him good
ditto...i like the kid..he has a fighting heart and has had great fights in the last couple of years..its amazing that seeing him go from getting shafted against jessie vargas on an undercard and ko'ing mike dallas on FNF to being an main event on a card on a major network and selling out arena in his home state.....he can still be something in boxing...someone needs to show him to tighten up his defense and work on head movement and he'll be good..but yeah he needs a couple soft touches at 147 so the nikka's prime doesn't expire early

First two people I thought about him matching up next with were either Pablo Cesar Cano or Johan Perez who upset Kamegai on the undercard
I'm glad he's a draw though, cat like him deserves to eat![]()
