Canelo can fukk around with Kirkland, Molina, Charlo Brothers, or Andrade in the mean time. I hope he doesn't think that his performance against Lara meant much as far as a statement. That goes for both him and Lara though

I honestly don't see the Floyd/Cotto fight being bigger than Cotto/Canelo just because we have tape of Floyd proving he is better than Miguel and nothing that has happened in the meantime has done anything to make me or (anyone else I'd wager) think that the results would be any different in Floyd/Cotto 2. Plus no one was running around screaming for a rematch after their first fight or acting like Cotto got robbed or anything.

Canelo/Cotto on the other hand has the benefit of being completely new which lends itself to be more of a question mark as to who would win. Couple that with it being Mexico vs Puerto Rico on Cinco de Mayo and that is a license to print money.

I would like to see Trout back on HBO and it would be a good fight. Cotto has looked more aggressive, so I think he would fare better.
My money is on an opponent that Cotto can KO and build hype for a Canelo showdown.

That is what I see happening and the smartest business move for Cotto so he doesn't screw up the Canelo bout by taking a loss.

Floyd has pop, but he doesn't use it anymore out of fear of injuring his hands again.. the veins in his knuckles and fingers probably have collapsed due to too many Xylocaine injection, and that will take years to heal.. His days of getting ko's or kd's are long gone

I dont understand these matchups at all, and if a fighter doesnt "dominate" these opponents, it actually brings their stock DOWN


It's always a lose-lose situation with these fights

lets revisit all 3 fighters last fights

Danny Garcia - gets soundly outboxed by Mauricio Herrera in PR, gets a gift and doesn't gain any new fans..killing his momentum from the matthysse fight. it is especially doesn't help that Herrera has gone on to another impressive victory and picked up an interim belt..now this wouldn't be too bad except danny is the king at 140. he does not have the luxury of facing low ranked fighters without criticism esp after a fight like the Herrera fight...all the negativity he brought on himself

Adrien Broner - facing the non talented carlos Molina on an undercard...fine it is what is..what should have been an easy tune up for to look good...instead he showed no improvements from the maidana fight and didn't even come close to stopping him much less hurt him.....It was a glorified PPV sparring session complete with struggle..he has a chance to turn it around with though

Lucas Matthysse - he came off a long layoff due to an orbital injury and while he did struggle early with Molina, who turned up motivated..he did what the other 2 failed to do...he knocked his opponent out....the fukk OUT!!! in impressive fashion...KOs in FOTY level brawls do wonders for the stature of a fighter ..now if he struggles with perez then something will have to be addressed

Arum is doing the right business thing and hoping the right things fall in place for Cotto/Canelo on Cinco De Mayo next year. If you want Cotto to not take a risk, then just have him fight the mandatory challenger in Rubio, or get revenge on Trout. And like I said, the hypothetical Supercard Oscar tweeted could be seen as a bit of a round robin, and we could potentially see matchups that vary from Cotto/GGG & Cotto/Ward, and vice versa with Canelo.

ill say this john Molina had notoriety outside of the demarco loss...dude owns zeros from notable prospects just like Herrera had notoriety for taking ruslan's zero and never been down in a fight..what notoriety does the non talented carlos Molina have?
