I've been slackin' on watching horror movies in general recently, I've been spending my time lately reading a lot of Extreme Horror & Splatter Punk, I'm finding that i'm fukkin w books a lot more these days so if anyone has any good book recs feel free to
drop some names. - I know there's a general book thread but i wish there was a Horror Specifically Thread like this one.

Since we're on page 2002 whats everyone favourite horror films from 02'

Some of mine include:

Dog Soldiers - Best werewolf film you'll see imo. (outside of the classics of course.) One of my favourites i can watch over and over again.

Cabin Fever (not the shytty remake) - Not a great film by any means but its fun and always a good time.

DeathWatch - Creepy, Atmospheric, in the trenches, more sorta psychological from what i remember - Not seen it in a while but i remember liking it a lot

Dog Soldiers is probably one of the best werewolf flicks of all time

But to add on

Bubba Hotep
28 Days later
May
Blade 2

My thoughts exactly on Dog Soldiers. Its Def my favourite one. - I Might be pretty biased though being I'm in the UK and its a British film.

But I thought I better brackets the classics in case someone was salty i didn't say best werewolf film of all time was American Werewolf in London 🤣 You are all pretty chill in here though.

28 days damn how did I forget that! 28 years soon. Excited to catch that in the cinema - Can't remember if i said in here already or not but my dad got to have a look around the set a little bit when it was over here filming (England) He said the costumes were on point.

Blade 2 is a favourite of mine also. I love the first one but I think I've watched Blade 2 more. 3 is just meh to me. idk if you all fw the third one as much

Bubba Hotep i need to peep. Its Bruce Campbell so I need to see that.

The name May rings a bell. Is Katherine Isabelle the main chick in that one? Body horror? I might be getting it mixed up with something similar.

I want to say i remember some Frankenstein type shyt where the main girl sews a cats head onto a body? And then i vaguely remember something about a sister needing some kinda transplant. Kidney or something? i'm probably mixing up a few diff joints

Ha , yeah. I could see some feelings getting caught...
I put Dog Soldiers, American werewolf and the first Howling in the same tier (maybe Ginger snaps as well),
Elite werewolf horror flicks.

and May. You have the premise down, but weird a$$ Angela Bettis is the lead. Great flick though, the early 2000's had some top indie horror being produced.

No doubt.

All four of those are in the running for top 5 werewolf movies. Gingersnaps is a favourite of mine too.

Speaking of the Howling, Are any of the sequels worth checking out? i know there was a whole bunch of them, im not expecting much from them but the first one is def up there.

I think i have seen May then yeah. the joint i got it muddled w was Ol' Girl from gingersnaps is the lead and she's some ex stripper turned body mod/surgeon, American Mary its called. and the other joint i got mixed in there was Excision.

I hear you on the early 2000's being top era indie horror joints & horror in general I'd say. Outside of the 90's my favourite era for horror is 2000 to like 05' you got a whole bunch of fun flicks from those years.

honestly, no. :russ:
A few months back I did a watch through of the entire series, it's posted in here somewhere.
I needed therapy after watching a few of these, like how did these get made??? they had to be some kind of money laundering scheme or tax loss write off for the studio.
If you are a completest. Give them a spin, if not you are not missing much.

The first one classic
The sequels - mid garbage to straight trash
The restart is okay

Oh well. Time to get back to the bars here in Mexico, only a few days left of vacation then it's back to the grind. I need to retire early.
