The Black Phone 2 is the movie I'm looking forward to the most. Him should be good and I'm hoping Marlong gets future looks for dramatic roles.

I don't have faith in the last Conjuring movie. The guy that did the last one is doing this one again.

You right I watched 'The Black Phone' again recently and the trailer for the new one looks pretty good :ehh:

I don't give a fukk it's only September but I'm officially back on the horror binge. So with that the latest is 'Saw X'. I have a love and hate relationship with this franchise. Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical going into this despite the reviews and audience reception. But look, they delivered here in a way that I didn't see coming. Kramer is back as the main attraction (I believe this falls between 3 and 4 but my memory is fuzzy on that) and it's still incredible to me how they can make him a sympathetic character but they pulled it off. First act had a lot to say about our world which you don't always see. The healthcare industry is under the microscope as is big pharma and they don't pull their punches. Once we get into the "game" the traps are pretty creative and I found myself squirming a few times for sure. The practical effects were some of the best of the franchise. The scammers were easy to root against, just huge pieces of shyt. The ending tied everything together in a nice bow. I wouldn't say this was perfect by any means or my favorite of the 'Saw' movies but it's a really solid entry and well worth watching.

Conjuring 2 goes harder than I used to give it credit for.

Pretty good story.

Crazy how the Nun on her Brock Lesnar dominate run in this movie.

In the conjuring she’s the unlockable character you can’t defeat, the nun series is when you finally unlock her and she don’t hit the same

year is flying by because of work,

but I am going to attempt to join in on this.

Before i forget - My suggestions for this year- 2 classics and 2 straight up fukkery_

the Stepfather (1987) (Tubi, Xumo, Plex, Philo)
Undead (2003) (plex, Tubi)
Dead Sushi (2012) (plex, tubi)

and dammit!

Videodrome (1983)- this may have to be one of my free picks - I can't find it for free anywhere online but my "site" has it,
Speaking of Videodrome, I just watched Scanners not too long ago. Cronenberg's run of The Brood, Scanners, Videodrome, The Dead Zone, and the Fly is just incredible. Five shots, no misses. I never watched the original Dead Ringers, so I can't include it, but it's acclaimed and was next.

Dead Sushi has been on my "I'll get to this" list for a while, so I'm looking forward to that watch too!

I think it looks solid from the trailer but I'm more looking forward to 'Him' as far as new releases go
Street Trash is on some over the top ish.

Visitors is a completely insane Japanese homage to the Deadites, but it's capital C Comedy-horror. I liked it a lot, but I could see people thinking it's too much with the ridiculous jokes.

Uncontained is mid, but has an interesting premise.

Ringu and Auditiion are on there, classics.

The Coffee Table was a major talked about horror from last year...it's really messed up, but somehow chalk full of comedic dialogue.

It's got a buncha found footage stuff, but they're a mixed bag. I like Banshee Chapter, The Horror in the High Desert trilogy gets a lot of love (I need to revisit those), I didn't like Project MK Exe but a lot of people did.

There's probably a bunch of hidden gems too. Their foreign stuff has some quality and there's a bunch of movies I have on my "I'll get around to it" list. Deus Irae is def on my radar.

Same here. Looks like the route they taking the sequel kinda feels lie a spiritual successor to Nightmare on Elm Street :wow:

NoES is exactly why it's the movie I'm looking forward to the most. I might need to get the new 4k collection for myself as a Christmas present.

I watched Scream, Queen! My Nightmare On Elm Street for the first time this year, but I still hate the second movie :pachaha: The scene where he faces off against the kids at the pool party is so damn goofy.

I like the news coming out about Good Boy. It's always a good sign when a horror movie goes from streaming to limited theatrical release to broader release, all based on test screenings. It had me at the premise, with the updates, now it's my most anticipated horror left this year.

I'm also hella curious about Shelby Oaks. The Chris Stuckmann debut. I've watched that dude's youtube reviews for so long that I'm pulling him to have a Phillipou bros' type of rise.
