I liked that it juxtaposed her possession with real feelings and resentment she had for the kid before the possession even began. The symbolism was dope because it was going for more than just generic scares and made into something where you're supposed to fear what you can become even without the help of a demon or whatever that thing was. I also like that she didn't just get over it and it goes away, that ish had to be locked deep in the cellar like the "I wanna kill this damn kid man" feelings she has. It was clever...but yeah not scary outside of psychological stuff that I figure would bother women more than men.
To me the movie was a metaphor for grief

The design for the demons are dope and they were about that action. These new horror movie demons are all about giving people the pimp hand and breaking your grandmother's only on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas fine china. These were about catching bodies
