Puppet Master 3: Toulin's Revenge

I didn't expect to have as much fun with this one as I did going into it, but them lil marionette mfs had me rollin' & rootin' for em at the same time :russ: .

Im not familiar with any of the other joints but I like how they handled the backstory for the puppets in this joint. All of em had their own little style. Six shooters mf was hilarious 😂.

yep Six shooter :wow: once that bandana goes up,, it's OVER!!

11. The Omen (1976) (Philo)
Richard Donner has a damn near unfukwittable film director run from the 70's through the early 2000s.
The Omen is religious horror at its peak. the lighting, the score, the pacing , the use of religious imagery, the atmosphere & the overall sense of dread... it just works
The second doctor from Doctor from Doctor who stimi as the priest was aplus too. Nikka should have regenerated after his death scene. :russ:
the sequel is just as good, maybe better.

the only thing that brings is down, is the kid playing Damien, he's a pretentious little fukk and his voice gets on my nerves.

12. Pumpkinhead (1988) (Tubi, Prime, Philo)

this movie is extremely underrated , even within the Horror community , this movie does not get the props it deserved.
Lance Henriksen acted his a$$ off in this movie. You can feel his pain and regret all through the flick
the creature design was top notch as well.
This is another series that the original was not done justice by a slew of crappy sequels.

13. Dead Sushi (2012) (plex, tubi)
Fukkery for Fukkerys' sake
Japanese ( non ghost) horror is an acquired taste,
Lots of gore , corny humor and the FX were top notch, the fight scenes were surprisingly well done too
its a good break from all the serious flicks we have been viewing.

14. Carnival of Souls (1962) (HBO Max, Tubi, Plex)
A lot of people call it the definitive neo - noir horror film

Another very atmospheric flick, well acted -
it did drag in certain spots though and felt like an extended Twilight zone episode
if it was directed by David Lynch. You can spot the similarities between this and Lynch's Lost highway
the way the beginning and the end are very abrupt and in your face as compared to the deliberate slow build up used in the rest of the film is jarring.

Just wrapping up my latest watch. Theme was clowns so I used IT Chapter 2. This movie didn't need to be no damn near 3 hours. Some of the flashback shyt was just dragging out time, we didn't need it. Part 1 was a much better film, but outside of run time and the anticlimactic ending, Part 2 is alright. I'm sure I'll watch it again in a few years.

Every time I rewatch Pumpkinhead, I wonder why the creature isn’t more recognized these days. The movie has great lore, Lance Henriksen as a lead, and the creature design is fantastic…it’s huge, climbs trees, and has a bit of Terminator in how it never stays down.

The only drawback is that the kills are lackluster. I assume it was due to limitations of an 80’s budget creature feature. But there isn’t a really memorable kill to seal the deal for how otherwise great Pumpkinhead is. This rewatch made me want to marathon the rest of the series, since I’ve never seen the sequels.

Currently watching Amityville The Awakening. This one is filling in my theme for Haunted House. Pretty solid cast considering that it's easily a direct to video feature. But it's got Red from that 70s show. Jennifer Jason Leigh and Jennifer Morrison who actually look like they could be sisters so hat tip to the casting person there. The young stars are Bella Thorne, Cameron Monaghan and McKinna Grace who is in the Ghostbuster Revival movies. Fits the bill for a 90 minute popcorn horror watch.

Sticking with my red heads on the evening.

Chastain in IT
Bella in this Amityville Movie. I accidentally loaded up Hulu before Peacock and saw Bella's got a new Horror/Mystery movie there called Saint Clare. So I'll probably watch that before calling it a night.

I kind of feel like Pumpkinhead just never got the big theatrical release. You know like all the great horror franchises have an anchor to the theaters. I feel like Pumpkinhead was always just that direct to video, or hey lets have a little get together and rent some horror movies from Blockbuster vibe. I know for sure the first time I ever saw Pumpkinhead was because me and my boys and the girls we were fooling around with just wanted to get some horror movies to put on and watch down in someone basement and ultimately try and get our little freak on in high school.

'The Omen' is probably in my top 5 of all time and every rewatch I'm blown away by how good this is. Religious horror always gets me and when it's done this well, it hits like nothing other. The pacing is perfect, the locations are creepy as hell, the kills are unsettling... I've written so much about this movie in the past so I'll just leave it there. Classic horror. The prequel from last year called 'The First Omen' was also very well done and surprised the hell out of me. You combine the two into a double feature and you're cookin.

Anyone seen V/H/S Halloween?

And speaking of old VHS movies, The Howling has aged well imo
I'm looking for a particular Howling movie where it takes place in a house, ppl spend the night in the house and get effed up, does that sound familiar?

Search my posts in this thread. I did a Howling series rewatch a whole back. All the movies , even the failed reboot.

I remember one being set completely in a mansion.
