it did take me 3 nights at 30 minutes a pop, tho'
its like a micro budget "supernatural" themed Predator knockoff with Michael Rooker
( who obviously needed a paycheck during this time in his life)

Got bored and started my series walkthrough.
I started with the blind dead series
there is really no continuity - so you can watch them in any order

1)Tombs of the Blind Dead (1972)

Decent flick - nice twist to the zombie formula
Satanist Knights Templar that get killed after they discover an way to achieve immortality . villager burn their eyes out .
and they come back as Zombies. the zombies are almost skeletal and very.......................very.............slow. They also focus on the sounds their victims make - Hence the Blind dead. Also , like Batman - they don't do shyt in the daytime.
Not as bloody as it is interesting -
6 out of 10- the atmosphere of this one is out of this world

2) Return of the Blind Dead (1973)

Possibly the best of the series
this one ratchets everything that worked in the first movie up to 100
More Blood & gore, more tension , better kills, more action, better plot , townspeople like fukkalla dat - and fight back
Just an overall better film

3) the Ghost Galleon (1974)

Blind Dead on a boat
not the best movie by any means , But the horror visuals in this one...
The ship visuals appear to be a model boat in a large pool
the fog, the victim getting pulled into the abyss and disappearing into the fog...
they cut back on the gore in this one as well

4) Night of the Seagulls (1975)

Major Lovecraftian Lore add in this one.
this movie is heavily influenced by Lovecraft -
isolated village, local villagers not wanted to be bothered by newcomers, cult like activity , the overall sense of dread.
caught me out of left field, but its a great addition to the lore of the series
hell there is a statue of an "Old One" in this flick
the blood comes back

5) curse of the Blind dead (2019)

the series just skipped the 80's through the 2010's and comes back with Covid
the movie does the same - its a Retcon (Retroactive Continuity, like comic books)
flick almost in a future where the earth is decimated by nuclear war
so it has some Walking dead vibes , but they keep the Lovecraftian lore, and basically tweak the origin just a little.
but it takes so long to get started its almost boring to sit through
they update the Knights design &............. and it just doesn't work
of course the SFX is better due to processes and improvements over time, but it just does not work.

6) Scream of the blind dead (2022) 40 minute short film

A Full Moon art house reimagining take on the blind dead
no dialogue , only a voice speaking to the main character most of it is filmed out of fucus and in slow motion
Classic example of some ideas need to stay in the idea stage

1 out of 10 - it gets the one for not being a full length feature
