Jane Foster dying was always the end-game with the storyline, but the positive response with female fans means they’re trying to find a way to make her stick around. Tentatively planning to make her the new Valkyrie as the movie version is a blank slate and no one cares about the 70s Defenders character.

Good Luck making Carol popular in the "teen/diversity" Ultimate U, since fans like her less than they liked Brunhilde during her post Fear Itself push.

Essentially that's the reason. Only reason they didn't do X-Men like they did Fantastic Four is because the X-Men are WAY POPULAR than the Fantastic Four. Even though the Fox/Disney will take a year or so to be finalized hopefully they ease off that crap in the comics but nothing major will happen on the movie front until probably 2019/2020.

It's easy to tell that this has been the case for a while now. The movies are directing the comics now. But them not creating any new material just to prevent fox is going to (or already has) bite them in the ass since readers aren't going for that shyt.

Agreed. There are a lot of "oh shyt" moments, but a lot of that shyt doesn't make sense when you consider how these characters historically compare on the food chain. Thanos shouldn't be able to do a lot of the shyt that he has without some external power up.

It was the same reason the house of m happened and avengers got pushed in the early 2000. Marvel gambled and won.
Mutants were there highest selling thing in 90s and then they got a reduction. Something was funny in marvel land. For the past couple of years I felt bad for xmen fans
