anybody else tired of the trope in TV/Movies where the person you didn't expect to read comics starts talking about Moebius on Silver Surfer or Dark Phoenix Saga or whatever?

It's like a screenwriter trying drop hip hop jewels by having a white dude tell the audience how great Dre, Snoop, Pac, Biggie and Eminem are.

edit: bonus if they're from New York, work corporate and berate somebody for not hearing Illmatic.
