Avengers vs Aliens :ohlawd:

Wakanda :banderas:

Venom :picard:

Sinister :pacspit:

Near the end I thought Hickman was setting up a sequel and I almost lost my shyt :russ: I mean, it could still be done if Marvel wants it but it wasn't as explicit as I thought it could be when the last monologue started :pachaha:

They should allow Hickman to do these for as long he wants. This miniseries had no business being this good.

Ribic is a perfect artist for him when he does these types of big "epic" stories too. The art for those Wakandan ships and infrastructure were :whew: I'm glad they gave him all that time to cook, the trade is gonna be fukking dope.

I swear Hickman is the GOAT T'Challa writer.

He's obviously the GOAT modern writer (last 25 years) and could probably make a case for top 3-5 ever, but he's actually ten-toes down when it comes to the BP character, whereas nearly every other writer be half-steppin

God damn that shyt annoyed me when I was a kid.

I'd have respected this more if it was an actual show like what they did with X-Men '97. That Spider-Man show while aging horribly was in real-time every bit as significant to our formative Saturday morning/Fox Kids era upbringing as that X-Men show.

The early episodic (villain of the week) era of the show, the vampire/mutation era, the madam web/tarot card era featuring one of the most memorable/gut-wrenching crashout moments in Fox Kids cartoon history (despite being heavily neutered/watered-down from the comics) with the MJ/Goblin/Madam Web ep...

To have never had a proper resolution to losing MJ was always a major blunder. I feel correcting it deserves an animation. And to do it in a way that corrects some of those constraints that ruined the show's rewatchability.

Yup, even here in Chile that Spidey show on Fox Kids was an eye opener to an entire generation (same as the X-Men show). I can only guess they haven't green lit a animated series like with X-Men '97 because they don't want to deal with animators and that kind of budget, which would be a fukking terrible reason :smh:

After a couple of meh issues, Ultimates came back nicely with their 3.0 "vision". At the very least, I salute Camp for really going for it with this book unapologetically. Not everything works, but when it does work, it's pretty damn great.

I continue to be :patrice: about him more than likely handling the Maker's return and that big event instead of Hickman. Specially after that horrible Miles crossover he wrote. He has some dope ideas but I'm still not convinced they are gonna work in a big crossover book that has to culminate 2 years worth of books...

That Miles crossover was terrible. I have to think that the Miles Morales writer did most of the writing for it.
That Maker's Return crossover needs to hurry up and get here. Outside of Ultimate Wolverine, the Ultimate books aren't quite as good as they once were.

I still really like the Black Panther book, it continues to be a quick, fun read. Ultimate Spiderman is fukking dope. Wolverine is a very weird book considering the context of this universe. UXM lost me like 4 issues ago, I like Momoko's art and get she's doing her own thing but the story is just not that compelling even for a manga-type of book.

:ohhh:

One of Spider-Man’s most legendary writers is swinging back into action this fall. J. Michael Straczynski, the acclaimed mind behind one of the most beloved runs in Amazing Spider-Man history, is back for Amazing Spider-Man: Torn—a brand-new five-issue limited series launching this October.

Straczynski is teaming up with fan-favorite artist Pere Pérez (TVA, Venom War: Carnage) to tell a story that takes readers back to Peter Parker’s college days at Empire State University. Expect appearances from Gwen Stacy, Harry Osborn, MJ, and Flash Thompson—plus classic villains and an all-new threat that could shake the Marvel Universe to its core.
