lol facts

But in all seriousness, National Harbor was a missed opportunity imo. Everything from there to Fort Washington should be sustainably developed for people that fukk with natural landscapes but want to also have a little urbanity. You could make an artist community, a great natural trail from the harbor to Fort Washington Park.

It could actually be lit but I doubt it’d ever happen cuz the big money families in Fort Washington wouldn’t want all that.
FW def nice but I agree that they should have integrated it more into the surrounding neighborhoods

In other news, wife and I thinking of moving to DT Silver spring
Not really trying to leave DC tho :manny:

WASHINGTON, DC

Bowser isn't going to stand up to Trump in his 2nd term. She knows the power imbalance is bigger this time around.

If the Dems win the House next year, she may have more ability to move... assuming she runs again next year and wins.

I do honestly wonder how much of this "switching up" she actually likes.

Cause I think to a large extent she's been pulled towards the "White Left", and away from "Professional Black Left"

I’d argue the professional black left in DC generally does not care for sanctuary city status

There are plenty of my cohorts who don't GAF
  • Gaza
  • Climate Change
  • Salvadoreans
  • and look askance at Ethiopians
But every last one of them are in the camp of , "I campaigned for Obama" Democrats.

The World, but from BK
Looks like during next July 2026 me and the fam will be making the move to Woodley Park. Gonna be an adjustment for us because where I live now in westchester, NY is right on the long Island sound and its very chilled and relaxed. But the 5 to 10 degree difference in the winter time will be much appreciated, but we"ll be in a row house so we'd be sharing walls. That'll be another adjustment but we won't have a mortgage. I may be posting up more in this thread next summer.

Yeah, in-laws downsizing, own the house and we'll pay em cheap rent until they transition. Also I'm 41 with 2 kids, so I'm in chill mode
Well it’s a great place to live ( kinda ratty especially near metro stations) but also near the Zoo so even in Adams Park expect to hear Lions and elephants roaring.

I guess you’ll get used to it but it tripped me out when I’d be up in Adams Morgan hearing Lions roar.

Philly born. PG raised

100% facts

anybody else who moved away can relate?

Yea that’s why I’ve moved away multiple times for work and always move back.

Especially with kids now. I can’t imagine them being the minority anywhere.

Not on no 6certs coli shyt but genuinely I do well enough to afford them upper middle class to upper class lifestyles and this is one of the only places that I can do that and know they will be surrounded by people that look like them.

That’s why I take the bad that comes with the good of this area.
