I’ll say this tho, I’ll gladly live in MoCo than a large chunk of NoVa.

And Idk why but I also anticipate someone moving from PG to MoCo is prolly like relocating from Chicago to Toronto lol :russ:
:bryan:I concur.

I didn't even know PG was bad until I moved. I have heard a person get shot, had a bull dike try to steal my dog in broad daylight, get randomly cussed out at the gas station at least 5 times, witnessed people getting jumped, had a chopped up dead body found in the complex I lived in, had a Asian lady try to break into my home in another...the list goes on and on. Not to mention how the police roll up on you 5 deep for routine traffic stops.

All that happened in PG. Not 1 of those things has happened to me in MOGO. In fact, not one rachet thing has happened to me since I have been here. Much love to people who live in PG. But that is county I would never move back to.

Today I went to this West African & Caribbean restaurant I’ve been curious on trying for a min. It’s called Sun Dim and it’s on Old Branch Ave near all them auto repair and tire shops in the cut next to the crab house and just a lil down the street from Iverson Mall. It’s a hole in the wall and one of the cooks is a sweet ol’ African lady and her husband. There’s a large menu on the wall but either one of them will ask you what you would like and if you want African or Caribbean. The wait time is usually a lil long (it’s a Black restaurant and an African carryout as well so you know how that goes lol) but trust me when I say it’s worth the wait. I ordered a cassava leaf stew with chicken and jollof rice. It was at least $15 total. I thought about asking for a small peanut butter soup as well if they had any but honestly, I didn’t even need it :russ: My cassava leaf was so fukking big by the time I got to half of the tray, I was full lmao so I got leftovers for dinner. They don’t got shiito but I got some here in the house anyway. The main proteins they got for the stew are goat, chicken, and fish.

Even in the hood, you can find some bomb ass food and hidden gems for your taste buds with some research and if you look good enough :wow:

@Groovy Tony Since you’re looking into moving to MD, keep Silver Spring in mind too along with PG.

Silver Spring in general got plenty of places for you to set up in but Downtown SS is quite possibly the best “work-live-play” CBD in the whole DMV outside of DC and Arlington. I really love how urban and suburban (more so streetcar suburban) at the same time a lot of Silver Spring is....Similar to Hyattsville but not as dusty lol. Silver Spring has a great location too with DC just down the street, Georgia Ave going through the whole city, both PG County and 495 nearby, and Rockville and Takoma Park right near its vicinity. It’s got plenty of nightlife, diverse restaurants, some cool festivities including FestAfrica, and is pretty much the Blackest part of Montgomery County relatively speaking. I’ll think you’ll definitely feast well in Silver Spring if you’re curious about it breh.
CBD?

Idk if it’s just Brandywine or if it’s PG in general but my neighborhood currently got a power outage with other 900 calls coming in according to SMECO. My house alarm even gave a warning about carbon monoxide :francis: The local firehouse is here so let’s see what happens.

shyt’s legit like 2003 all over again...A whole brood of cicadas and a rolling blackout.

Update: They just had to fix the alarm, so false alarm on the carbon monoxide thankfully. We still outta power for now. But it wasn’t even the Brandywine firehouse that sent out an engine to us, it was fukking Accokeek :dwillhuh:

2nd Update: Power’s back on.

the wharf is a whole new neighborhood now. I went over there during thanksgiving...blew my mind. Two hotels, condos, at least 5 restaurants...Kith & Kin is an upscale African/seafood spot owned by a breh who was on Top Chef...food is great

I just remembered that this place shut down permanently last year thanks to the pandemic. Never even got the chance to try it out :francis:
