Apple signed a $20 million deal with him, they're not about to let him fail. His popularity is still crazy, but even if it wasn't, just off the strength of Apple his sales aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Considering the majority of record sales are done through itunes I can't imagine it would be very hard for them to manipulate the numbers. Not saying that's definitely going on, but it also isn't out of the realm of possibility considering labels have been buying up their artists' records for years.

and this is the reason why Drake will always be ahead, but dude has already crossed over. he isn't hip hop.

I was out all weekend in LA and didn't hear the shyt once. Haven't heard it anywhere in public since it dropped.

Hotline Bling is still going, but this song is just not popping like that

LA totally different market. Y'all play completely different shyt out there that what we play on the East Coast, Chicago, etc. I definitely don't look at LA as representative of whats poppin at all

i dont understand yall... you guys hate on meek all the time yet you stay talking about him?

especially you.. you the one telling people to talk about rappers they like and not criticize Drake yet you keep meek in your mouth and in all your keyboard shortcuts.

Drake topping charts isnt surprising.

I'm talking about Drake, Meek just the punchline. I like some Meek songs :yeshrugs: I used to think he was on course to be the next DMX until he started dropping mediocre albums.

Drake doing his best numbers for a single in a week is quite surprising considering the song.

Oh and for the record

No more parties in LA > Summer Sixteen

I know it's random but I had to put that out there

Are you a meek stan? Outside of that I can't recognize a motive for this baseless thread

Furthermore . . Drake flopping, being credited to Meek is like a football player celebrating a penalty . . classless and devoid of your own merit

Sweet Sixteen flopped? We gonna need some receipts his stans was hyping it up.

Shyt didn't flop. The mods merged this thread but somehow left some replies and the thread still active. OP title was sarcastic.

It debuted at Number 6. But billboard charts are bullshyt really because labels push out songs to radio and radio is more likely to order and play songs by established artists. If you're a superstar you're basically guaranteed a top 40 debut. This is what happens in the era of radio consolidation.
