i've visited VA a few times but only the northern alexandria and hampton areas. i hear that the southern portion is completely different. it's hard for me to believe b/c i've only seen he diverse urban northern part, but is it basically deep south culture down there?

I'm born in raised in the Hampton Roads area (where Hampton is obviously), which is in the southeast area on the coast. Hampton Roads, northern VA (DC area), and Richmond are the metro areas and they're straight. Pretty much everything west of Richmond outside of maybe Roanoke is like another planet...bluegrass hillbilly type shyt.

so i'm reading that many economist believe the economy will recover nearly fully over the next 4 years regardless of who wins the election.

if that's the case and there are no major scandals/terrorist attacks, then Hillary Clinton will have a cake walk in 2016 (particularly if Christie doesn't clean up his act).

just looking at that map, she will win all of obama's states, plus florida/iowa/nevada/colorado where the clintons are loved, she will have a shot at arizona with the hispanic population growing, virginia, north carolina, and even indiana and few other midwest states might be in play.

:whoa: ... One election at a time breh :whew:

I don't know about 3-4 pts, but I've seen recent polls that favored Obama by 1-2 points. It's at least still in play. People talking about Florida like it's already ova. That sh1t is sad to me. Do they blame Rick Scott for anything there? How much federal money did he turn down? Fukkin bum.

And it's amazing how the GOP is allowed to sabotage the entire US economy and now say " Obama, you didn't fix sh1t fast enough" :mindblown:

I swear if the Taliban had a wkend program like the National Guard, I might fux w/ em for a month or 2 just to see whats up

florida got a lot of black folks, just like georgia but many of them seem ignorant as fukk. i doubt they'll even vote. plus florida got a lot of jews and old people. republicans have painted obama as anti-israeli, just b/c he doesn't stay on his knees to netanyahu as long as the rethugs. plus obama dropped the ball on the healthcare debate. most of the damage is irreversible. a lot of those old geezers in the sarasota/tampa area still think they're going to be whisked away in the middle of the night by obama's death panels. obama needs to stack wins the orlando area and south florida.

Florida voters are some of the dumbest sentient organisms on planet Earth. Rick Scott has if I'm not mistaken the lowest approval rating of any Governor in the country. But the fact that he's in office in the first place speaks to the general stupidity of Floridians. This guy had to pay the largest fine for MEDICARE FRAUD in history and got elected in a state that has the highest percentage of elderly population in the country. He only won 51/49 but still. He's been a horrible Governor for many reasons I won't go too much into. But he could've started slashing the unemployment rate here if he wouldn't have nixed high speed rail project that was already approved by the state congress.

Florida's economy is bad because of the housing market. A lot of greedy dudes were flipping condos left and right until the crash happened. Now housing prices are harder hit here than most places in the country and condo prices in particular are in the toilet. I own a condo and my mortgage is underwater. I can't even refi it because we make too much money to qualify for any programs. :snoop:

Yeah, the culture isn't really distinctly northern or southern where I grew up at. That's why we call it the middle east. Clipse are pretty typical of Hamptons Roads area dudes even though they were born in NY. So is Allen Iverson and Michael Vick. When I was a youngster, we always generally preferred northern music. The local radio stations was ran and DJ'ed by NY transplants. It might be different now though.

I moved to NOVA a few years back. NOVA is like a Northeastern state. Don't know too much about the rest of the State though. we see doing alot of grassroots work so I hope it's not in vain. I'm worried about defense workers and contractors voting for Romney because he is promising increased defense spending.

Obama up 1 in national tracking

Barack Obama moved slightly ahead in the rolling three day average of PPP's national tracking tonight, 49-48. He was down 49-47 in Monday night's release but has gained a net 3 points as interviews from Tuesday and Wednesday have replaced those conducted on Saturday and Sunday.

The key for Obama is that he's reduced Romney's lead with independents in the wake of his debate win on Monday night. He trailed by 9 points with them earlier in the week but has now cut that deficit to 2 at 47-45. Because of the party identification advantage Democrats enjoy nationally, Romney probably needs to win independents by a wider margin than that if he's going to be elected.

There have been small shifts in Obama and Romney's favorability numbers in the wake of the debate. Obama's favorability has improved a net 3 points from 47/49 to 49/48. His job approval numbers, although still in the red, have seen similar shift from 45/51 to 47/50. Meanwhile Romney's reviews have gone in the other direction from 50/45 to 49/47.

Obama's up big with women (54/42), African Americans (91/6), Hispanics (58/37), and voters under 30 (58/38). Romney's strength is with men (56/42), whites (58/39), and seniors (55/43).

Obama took a small lead in our tracking last week in the immediate aftermath of his debate win and then lost it as the weekend approached. We'll see in the next few days if this advantage, as small as it is, proves to be more durable.

Never understood this mentality. Doesn't the south have the highest concentration of blacks in throughout the U.S., how come these aren't batteground states :damn:

Because most white people down south are HARDCORE Republicans and never vote any other way, and they still outnumber blacks by quite a bit. Whereas in other places (West, Midwest, etc.), there are a larger percentage of white voters that are Independents or Democrats.

In Georgia you have a lot of black people in Atlanta and thats really about it. We in Savannah, Albany, and Macon a bit, but its a hell of a lot of white people in the areas in between. Not just white people but confederate flag waving, hillbilly white people.

I fear the worst, berh's :to:

If Obama doesn't repeat, I don't want to ever hear any negative shyt about Canada. It's completely baffling how close this race is.

Romney: "I will fix everything...just read my website"

I knew Obama would take the blame for Bush's work.
