Somewhat relevant, October 14, 2009 IMO was more a more epic day than any of the World Cup moments. Davies almost dead, Gooch injured, USA losing, seems everything is going downhill. Not even fighting for a victory but just fighting for a happy ending after a legendarily devastating day, and it happened.
And I rank the WC moments thus:
1. Donovan vs Slovenia goal (Because it was the lifeline. 45 minutes from elimination - once he scored, anything was possible. All we needed was the first)
2. Dempsey vs England (Showed that we could hang against a favored opponent, and BTW that point ended up being the vital one)
3. Donovan vs Algeria (Justice)
4. Bradley vs Slovenia (I knew it was destiny by then, I just went overboard emotional and dumped my whole betting account on the USA not losing after being down 2-0, knowing that if I lose it all it'd hardly make me any more miserable)
5. Donovan vs Ghana (Justice, we were the better team all game but in an ironic twist, we only win the ones we play badly in, mostly)
