This wouldnt of been an issue if Slot had created a culture of rotation and didnt have his clear favourites which everyone knows. I.e he'll run you into the ground till you can no longer go. Slot isnt the only one that does this btw. Pep and Fergie are the 2 best I've seen where they rotate the players in and out between August-February and then come March they find their strongest starting XI and its pretty much nailed on till the end of the season.
Slot fighting for his job throwing shyt against the wall and knew Salah wasn't going to be around in the upcoming weeks so he try to jump start Liverpools season/his job rip the bandaid off. What would of happened if Salah kept on starting and performing at his current levels. Salah leaves and Liverpools performance and results suddenly improve? So when Salah comes back after AFCON does he go straight back into the starting XI. Thats a whole new problem.

its tough any pool fan with eyes knows that salah has not been the same. people have been asking to bench salah when he was having ineffective games since last season, mine u he had an all time season stats wise...this year the goals are no going in so its even more glaring.
The issue here is that is just not him that is ass, Gapko, Macca, Konate, kerkez, last year robbo, and even VDD to a lesser extent. He only benches salah, and everybody else keeps their spots. Gapko is the definition of stats do not tell the whole story , he's up there in assist and goals but when u watch him play it ages u. Slot has favorites, he also seems to be a tough no nonsense guy with the younger players, like Quansah, elliot, shyt even rio, ever since that Southampton game were he was below par he has become a non factor, sub here and there. But with the vets or his dutch crew they get an infinite amount of chances, that alone would rub anyone the wrong way,never mind mo.
Had slot also rotated cody for chiesa, kept robbo on the team who honestly has not been near as bad as last year for kerkez and even rotated konate people would give him the benefit of the doubt, but the fact basically only salah gets benched and salah says someone at club wants him gone could be interpreted as hughes or edwards telling slot to stop playing salah....

The moment Salah signed that latest contract both Liverpool and him were on the clock. The club been planning to get rid of him ever since the ink dried because he's 33 with decling athleticism and he needs replacing. Salah knows this that's why there always been the Saudi interest/threat from Salah's side over the last couple of seasons.
Doesn't change the idea about having the conversation. Hell Virgil probably needs that conversation as well. Folks who have served the club with distinction. If Liverpool think they need to make the decision, make it, respecting what he has done.

This is the thing Salah only been dropped since 30th November. Salah and people trying to sell this like it's happened all season. It's only the 7th December today. A week thats all.

When should they have this convo with Salah. Up until last weekend he was undeniable starter. If Salah got the bench treatment for most of the season sure. It's only 3 games.
When you made the damn decision. You have time to decide he should be benched but don't have the time, knowing how Salah is, to give him the respect to tell him?

Trent VVD contracts also ending forced their hand. You cannot let 3 cornerstone players leave for free all at the same time. And then with the Trent fall out by the fans they caved.
Fergie and Wenger were proven right about the 1 year renewals for players 30 and over in their day and the same still applies today. The Prem is No Country for Old Men.
