My whole point is that those two years were two different Rooneys. The 2009/10 Rooney looked like he was stepping up to take over Cronaldo's place. The 2011/12 Rooney had Fergie go out and buy RVP.

To answer your question, it amazes me that they are pouring this much into winning this season(weren't they relegated last year?). While I'm not hating, it's just so sudden, which I hope they follow it up next year with more signings. I'd love to see Ligue 1 be relevant and a top 5 European league again. That means possibly, some more teams spending money... que Lyonnais and Marseille.​
