Nah bra. Each club has their own academy where they recruit players as young as 6 yrs old in some cases. Those players are brought through the ranks (u-9, u-16, u-18s etc.) until they are poached from Barcelona or make their first team debut.

There is a draft in MLS however though.

because 99.9999999999% of the time they end up signing for the club that developed them, if offered a professional contract.
