Pato Sanchez got suspended for three CONMEBOL games when he was at River Plate, but he went to play in Mexico and never finished his suspension. He played last week and Independiente filed a complaint. As far as I know this has been litigation all week, and CONMEBOL decided to make a decision today.

CONMEBOL handled this situation terribly from the start. Anybody with common sense knew what was coming. Without that decision the game more than likely goes to penalties, instead we get knocked out by a decision made in an office building.
