Pato Sanchez got suspended for three CONMEBOL games when he was at River Plate, but he went to play in Mexico and never finished his suspension. He played last week and Independiente filed a complaint, and won. As far as I know this has been litigation all week, and CONMEBOL decided to make a decision today.

CONMEBOL handled this situation terribly from the start. Anybody with common sense knew what was coming. Without that decision the game more than likely goes to penalties, instead we get knocked out by a decision made in an office building.

Doesn't the young talent move away from the domestic league anyway, after one good tournament at youth level.

Nigeria like a lot of the African powerhouse football nations, they have so many nationals living elsewhere and young talent who grew up in other countries and playing at a higher level then the local domestic league. They concentrate more on trying not to lose that talent and try to get those players to play for the motherland, instead of nurture the people they have on their doorstep.

You cannot say Belgium and leave off Germany, Portugal and France tbh that's a big .

Secondly Germany and Belgium way is based off the Dutch. And their philosophies aren't even 2 decades old and only did so because they either did shyt at international tournaments in Germany case and didn't qualify for a few tournaments in Belgium's. So if they didn't have struggles they probably wouldn't of revolutionized their way of thinking.
Holland and Portugal been doing this for decades. And France have had the best national academy since the 90's.

Germany has a strong domestic league so they have less need to export their players overseas.
