Canada's getting an official Soccer League,
Pros: it's aiming to have a promotion/regulated system
Cons: it's Canada

Mertens got 10 CL goals. First Belgian to do that.
Hazard??? B..b..but it's the managers fault.

Now Boca is refusing to play at all, and what’s River Plate to be disqualified![]()

I’m new and still learning a lot about the sport but this is maddeningtook them a year and a half to 'search' for a new US coach and they ended up hiring an MLS coach again. US will never change for the better
Yeah they tried to style on Lopetegui but he would have easily been the manager with the best pedigree to ever coach the US. Too many MAGA Cacs are involver with US Soccer and they dont know shyt about the game.
Yeah, that's better long term. MLS been around 2 decades and still hasn't produced a world class talent. A few decent players, but top teams aren't dedicating a budget to scout MLS.
Some weekends after watching European football all day I'll go watch a MLS game. The level is still shocking to me. The play is almost positionless as it's mostly energy players running around trying to win posession, getting the ball and 9/10 not doing shyt with it.

If something goes awry, U.S. Soccer does not have a Plan B. Again: The process has dragged beyond two years — 734 days, as of this writing — and by all appearances there is no Plan B.
...
There are plenty of national-team watchers, including prominent writers who use words such as “futbol” and “pitch,” who have pointed out the messy edges to this prolonged coaching search. Over the past week, for instance, Sports Illustrated, Yahoo and ESPN have reported that only Berhalter and former Dallas FC coach Oscar Pareja were formally interviewed for the job — and that Julen Lopetegui, the former Real Madrid and Spanish national coach, might have been interested for a hot second.
Stewart has been criticized for passing on interviewing any number of qualified candidates — See: Tab Ramos, who coached the national U-20 teams to back-to-back CONCACAF championships and knows the American talent pipeline as well as anyone. He didn’t even get a sit-down.
Neither did interim coach Dave Sarachan, Atlanta United coach Tata Martino, Sporting KC coach Peter Vermes or Paraguay national coach Juan Carlos Osorio. (It was Osorio who, in his former station as Mexico’s national coach, halted the U.S. “dos-a-cero” dominance at Crew Stadium, marking the beginning of the end for Klinsmann.)

They still good, but out of the 3 firmino seems to have fallen off the most. they better beat napoli thats all i know.![]()
easily the two most head scratching things in this country right now.
Michael Arace | It wasn't pretty, but US Soccer to get right coach in Crew's Gregg Berhalter
They made this whole show about finding the best coach and everything and they only considered two people?
As for MLS, I still remember when there were 10 teams and the play was slowly improving by year, bums were slowly being phased out.
Now they're trying to get to 28 teams in 4 years after years and tears of "we're not trying to recklessly expand like the NASL" ...
No real plans, just expand, just because ... when that wasn't good enough years ago.

I can see them signing Ramsey, imo. From a midfield tactical standpoint. It's a 2 vs 3 thing, the struggle of adjusting to knowing when to go and not go forward from a side midfielder in a 3 to that of being central in a 2.
Kante is WC destroyer and b2b player in the Gattuso mould but what Chelsea/Sarri need is more Essien then Kante. Now Kante has had all of his success playing in a 2 man midfield, whether it was with Drinkwater, Matic or Pogba. But now he is being asked to do more than ever before and that includes scoring goals.
The real issue for me is Kovacic, who is suppose to be the most attacking of the midfield 3 and provide goals and assists like Hamsik and Zielinski, but that isn't really his game. So they basically relying on the 3 forward players to score all the goals, which may work in Serie A, but not in the PL or in Europe. And when you play a midfield 3, one of the midfielders has to be the additional goal threat along with the forwards, but Jorginho, Kante and Kovacic just aren't that, they all prefer to play deeper. Kante doesn't need the ball but the other 2 need it to be effective. That's why Barkley has looked better in the midfield with Kante and Jorginho, while being technically inferior to Kovacic, he fits better as he is far more direct and wants to get into the box.
TL:DR
Jorginho isn't getting dropped and Sarri isn't going to move from a 3 man midfield. He was 4312 at Empoli and the Napoli players told him they preferred to go to 433, but the midfield shape didnt change
Wouldn't mind seeing a midfield 3 of Kovacic Kante Barkley.
