thats my problem with mourinho. When Klopp first got to liverpool, he was lambasted for terrible defense but he kept his team on the attack. Look at them now?

Mourinho will not play attacking players if "his defense" is not literally stopping attacks from making it into the box. He did that at Real Madrid & Chelsea too. That's why attacking players never got game time. But the game has changed and He doesn't seem to realize that. He'd rather bytch and moan about how other teams are allowed to spend money. Here he is spending on Fred but doesn't want to play him because "the defense" is not up to par. It will never be up to par b/c teams are so good at attacking and breaking you down nowadays.
That's the fundamental difference between Guardiola and Mourinho. Guardiola is always looking to attack and put pressure on teams while Mourinho wants to defend first, then attack.
