The one that caused the Maupay miss was a pen. Just a needless lunge tackle by young Neco.

Before VAR the second pen would have never happened. Sure there was contact, but it was slight and incidental. Nobody on Brighton was even yelling at the ref for a pen before VAR chimed in. The ref had a shocker, the Ben White yellow card that happened shortly before stoppage time was an awful call as well.

To be honest this is why I view modern football differently cause I'm constantly comparing it to 90s/2000s Serie A & Premier League. Football isn't a contact sport anymore and I'll just have to live with it.

just imagine when a.i starts getting involve, technology got a foot in and it aint leaving. Just imagine more sophisticated VAR hahah the game is done, because fans are really never gonna be allowed to return in full.
