You would assume if ETH was pushing for him he would have some assurances on playing time. However, you are right. Next year would probably make the most sense for him. Sucks but hey, what can you do?

its changed with this "golden generation", but in general there has been a lot of indifference and apathy towards the USMNT the last few years. I like this group of players, but personally I'm not as excited about the team as I used to be.
