making the WC is one thing you should want to do something when you get there. iron sharpens iron. right now canada is no different than these small caribbean nations they should be vastly superior to, you're going to suffer the same fate. instead of the small countries rising a level, the big concacaf 3 are instead at their level. they should strive for more and that can only come from being tested by real competition. like when australia left oceania for asia.

get your shyt pushed in by brazil and argentina enough times in qualifications games and you start to think damn we need to get better.

I don't agree with this logic at all. Australia was on their way up and already producing better players around the time they moved to the Asian federation. They moved because their path to the WC always had them go through do or die playoff rounds for qualification, similar to how Africa had great players for a long time but had to suffer through meager slots at the tournaments.

Bolivia and Venezuela have been trash for most of their history and only Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay have even made it to the final match at a WC after all this time. None of the others have ever made top 4 either.

boliva and venezuela don't have the money or talent to be more than they are. uraguay, chile, ecuador, colombia, paraguay may not win the world cup in the future but they are strong teams that provide good competition to keep brazil and argentina sharp. the big 3 of concacaf have the resources and talent pool to be better than they are if pushed. who currently sharpens their iron? jamaica, barbados, trinidad, curacao?

Brazil and Argentina would still be Brazil and Argentina if you swapped them into Concacaf and swapped USA, Mexico, and Canada out or if you dumped them into the current Oceania confederation. The players they produce and their national setup is what makes them strong, not beating Paraguay and Peru on a regular basis.

"In my day, the best [group] runners-up went straight to the World Cup; now the rules have changed," Gattuso said. "To change the rules, you need to tell those who organise these tournaments.

"Italy's record of six wins [in qualification]? You'd have to ask the people who make the groups and the rules.

"In 1990 and 1994, there were two African [three qualified in 1994] teams; now there are nine. It's not a controversy, but there are difficulties, and we know it well.

Good luck getting those 9 goals. :mjpls:

This is what happens when you believe the finals are your countries birthright.

Gattuso with the classic, "blame the foreigners" move. They are second to Norway. Maybe they need to ask themselves why they fell behind Norway instead?

Getting beaten 3-0 by Norway is pretty comprehensive. Pick yourselves up and win your playoffs.

We all know which two, sorry *who, has been overrepresented and still is :mjpls: He right the system is fukked up even with the expanded and added places :mjpls: It’s a WORLD cup, 6 federations, my math says that each should be having like their top 16% of member nations qualify factoring in a spot for host nation, let’s do it, make it fair for everyone, would hate for any country to be feeling the system is against them like he is :mjpls:

Big news for us, I was :dahell: when they was saying he would be suspended cause it didn’t make sense it wouldn’t be a clean slate but it’s cleared up now :blessed:

Onyedika could have carried the fort but we know it wouldn’t have been him :francis:
