When LVP won in 2020, they broke their duck by making it not a race. You're crazy if you don't think the players and fans will feel the weight of the drought come the new year. And I'm saying this is someone following the club since '99.

Fundamentally, you're correct and I agree. However, the league is SIGNIFIACANTLY better talent wise than it was almost 6 years ago. Just look at the middle of the table and 2-5.

I'm not saying injuries all of a sudden mean Arsenal don't lose again. But when you look at the caliber of players out....there's no way you can hand wave away the absence. I mean imagine City with Haaland out. They wouldn't even be in the conversation.

i knew this wa gonna happen. Missed this game on purpose.
Why didnt this goodebenig Mf'er perform like this at Arsenal?
Toxic fans?

There was a battle at the front office at the time and Josh Kroenke hadn't taken over operations with Edu yet. Also, he was dealing with the remnants of Wenger's squad which to be fair wasn't very good. Also, I think Emery actually works better with players that are just below world class.
When he has to manage big clubs with big expectations I think he flounders. He's exactly who you want when you want your team to make it to Europe consistently and without splashing major cash on players.

How are you quantifying this tho? Checking the table from that year the teams all in the top half had more points than the current teams.

And Haaland might stay healthy the whole year and arsenal may get more injuries. There's no guarantee either way. Soon they'll be playing in four competitions regularly, with no room for error. Their away form has been subpar (loses at Anfield, Villa, draw at Bridge). Truth is, arsenal has the habit of giving away points when others are (we saw it last year when city fell off).
