I think its because of the "Ra" in the beginning of his name, making "Rafinha" "female", opposed to the "Ro" in Ronaldinho making it "male"...but what do i know, portuguese isnt my first language.

Rafael/Raphael also does carry the Rafa/Rapha nickname, so rafinha would make more sense instead of rafinho
