My Pops Forever RIP
My final takeaways

This wasn’t a bad ceremony at all performances wise. Kendrick killed it like he ALWAYS does. Donald Glover the Gawd was fantastic. The Despacito performance was good. Most of the performances were dope

Kendrick sweeping the rap categories :salute:

Gambino the Gawd picking up his first Grammy:blessed:

SZA getting shut out:mjcry:

Hov getting shut out:wow:

Kendrick losing Album Of The Year AGAIN :mjcry:

Bruno winning the major categories :scust:

All in all I’m not gonna bytch too hard. We all know The Academy is still :mjpls: when it comes to Hip Hop. I look forward to reading the think pieces over the coming weeks.

See y’all next year :lolbron:

I can't look at the night Kendrick had and then say that in absolute. Matter of fact, as I always say, it's not as if there's these award shows that we're supposed to love and support that double down on it and give Kendrick or whoever every award. Put it this way: name an award that showed more love to Kendrick than tonight. THAT should upset you more than apparently the one award y'all cared about. I wanted Kendrick to win, but I'm not about to invalidate the rest of his night because he didn't win AOTY. If nothing else, as far as rap, there's Kendrick and there's everyone else, and if you're a Kendrick Lamar fan, you're happy with that.

How many years are we going to keep expecting handouts from these award shows before we get it into our heads that they're not really in our best interests? I'll give Bruno credit, I haven't heard his album, but the singles that came out on the radio. Is there anyone else making the same type of music? I can't be mad at him if he's the only one in his lane doing it.

If more people were making the shyt Bruno does, we wouldn't be complaining about the state of R&B music.

Taylor Swift robbing Kendrick is robbery.

Daft Punk robbing Kendrick depending on how you feel, is robbery.

This year was as big of a toss up as you could have. It doesn't change how big of a night Kendrick had. It doesn't change how memorable DAMN will be. Bruno Mars had as big of a year as anyone did. You can be bitter about Kendrick not winning, but don't take that out on Bruno cuz he's making the music that we all wish some of "imma beat that p*ssy up" ass R&B singers would make.

If EVERY r&b artists were on the "imma beat that p*ssy up" then i'll agree. Since they aren't then..............nah

Not sure if it's "bitter" that's a interesting word to use... Most ppl fukk with Bruno, just bc we'd rather another artists won we (I) i'm not bitter. DAMN was a phenomenal album that had everything the grammy "group" needed to make it album of the year. But oh well, they're more pressing issues black folk need to deal with than who won aoty

When she get thick? She starting to look like a bad ass Island auntie.. :takedat:

Auntie definitely settin in now.
shyt 24k got play in my car all 2017

Yall need to understand everyone, literally everyone fukks with Bruno. My 60+ year old clients know this dudes songs, all the lyrics too.

It's his time

:yeshrug:

These dudes are slow... you’re not exaggerating when you say EVERYBODY fux with homie. You can’t deny that kinda popularity when it comes to awards.

It’s either denying possibly the last budding icon of this music shyt or giving it to a fake deep/woke rapper or giving it to a newfound fake deep/woke rapper.

Decision seems pretty clear to me. :manny:

Album of the Year winners: 2014: Daft Punk over Kendrick Lamar 2016: Taylor Swift over Kendrick Lamar 2018: Bruno Mars over Kendrick Lamar. WHAT DOES HE HAVE TO DO TO WIN THIS AWARD?!
Fred
He has to make an album that you hear everywhere you go. He's never done that.
