Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
Nowhere. Every year, TCAD (Travis County Appraisal District) releases a basic appraisal estimates for residents, and our property taxes calculated accordingly.
Oooh.

That's actually an L, breh. :francis:

I was talking about this with my sister in San Antonio recently...her taxes be shooting up from year to year like rent increases.

shyt's wack, tbh.

Many States have laws where the Taxable Value of your home can't increase by more than 3% no matter how hot the real estate market is.

It's better for the homeowner when it comes to planning future expenses.

Imagine having to pay an extra $200 a month but you didn't get a raise at work

Orchard, Red Fin, & Zillow all said my 2nd house here in Houston shot up $100k in value and we’ve only lived here 2 months :picard:

Tbis shyt is unsustainable, that being said if we hit $600k we will cash out equity to buy more property :troll:

My neighbors just recommended i get one.

It's like $20 a month apparently.

Why did you go with American Home Shield?
Sorry breh, I'm just now seeing this.

My realtor actually bought the first year for us. And, once the year was up, my wife and I decided to just keep it going.

Don’t use a choice home they ain’t shyt and send shady repair people. I switch up to One Guard. I’ve heard positives about them.

Made an offer and got accepted today. This house felt right and everything lined up for it. Also the first house that didn't have multiple insane offers off rip. It was just us and one other couple.

Compared to what other houses have been going for, I think we got a steal. The sellers left money on the table because they were lazy in their presentation and a bunch of little things with the house/property.

The major thing was the backyard. It was a nice sized area with a good layout and some plants but it was all rocks/gravel. There was no grass. I live in Washington, not Arizona. Everyone has a lawn here. It was for sure a big reason there were only two offers but it's an easy fix to us, just have to take the time to do it.

Inside the house was a little dirty. Not filthy, but dirtier than almost every other home we saw. Went in the garage and there was a throw-up spot from one of their pets. Just a general lack of cleanliness.

The backyard patio/deck is kind of in an odd spot too. Certainly not a dealbreaker but I could see some people being put off by it.

Y’all have no idea how lucky you are. Townhouses an hour outside of the Toronto downtown core go for well over a million. So if you make $200k with no debt and 20% down the most you can afford is a $1m property which means a condo likely an hour outside the city.

we have the most unaffordable market on thr planet.

Anyone own a co op? My financial advisor floated that as a suggestion as a way to own something in NYC and have the ability to build equity.
